A tear down of the projector is not necessary but cleaning the prism directly adjacent to the lamp is recommended. The "off gassing" of the lamp leaves a film on the prism and if the projector has any hours at all you likely see greater light output by freeing the prism of this gunk. Use a lens cleaner kit with the fluid and cloth included to clean it. The prism is clearly visible when you remove the lamp, looks like a little square window where the lens of the lamp points, cant miss it.Beyond checking the air filters and maybe vacuuming the air intakes and outputs (DO NOT use compressed air and blow this dust build up into the projector) thats all you should have to do. You can clean the lens of the projector if it needs it but DO NOT use lens cleaner, according to the instruction manual JVC coats their lenses with a special coating and only straight water or mild soapy water should be used to clean the lens.Congrats on the new projo.
