Everything mentioned so far is worthy.

My choices in order of importance:

Around the World in 80 Days (80 times over anyway)
Porgy and Bess (my vote for the most important film that has been totally ignored on home video)
Star! (very underrated)
Ryan's Daughter (the last Lean epic for Blu-ray)
El Cid
The Brothers Grimm (Cinerama of course, Smilebox)
The Fall of the Roman Empire

All of these are big-negative productions.

I'd like to see the following restored to their "roadshow" status with overtures, intermissions, entr'actes and exit music (when applicable) restored::

Barabbas (1962)
Big Fisherman (1959)
Can-Can (1960)
Custer Of The West (1968)
Hallelujah Trail (1965)
Hawaii (1966) (extended version)
Krakatoa East Of Java (1969)
Lord Jim (1965)
MacKenna's Gold (1969)
Napoleon (1929)
Porgy And Bess (1959)
Raintree County (1957)
Red Tent (1971) (195 minute version)
Song Of Norway (1970)
Star! (1968)
Where Eagles Dare (1969)
Wonderful World Of The Brothers Grimm (1962)

This will count as all 10 of my top 10. This is one of those rare occasions where the Roadshow version is incredibly better than the theatrical. The Roadshow is a classic and incredible film. The theatrical is an interesting but very flawed film.

Best thread ever! I want everything mentioned and a would rush to buy them. I keep dreaming that Twilight TIme might give us BARABBAS, but am inclined to give up on them at this point. WB will probably get around to AROUND/80 DAYS and with luck, PORGY AND BESS. I keep dreaming that the US releases of FALL/EMPIRE and EL CID will come from new 4K sources. And, I am now hopeful we will see a new SPARTACUS in 2015.

Don't give up on TT because of Barabbas. It's a Sony/Columbia title. And who knows if they even have the elements for the Roadshow version with Overture and Entr'acte music.

Spartacus should be coming in 2015 based upon the new 4k 'restoration' by Universal Home Video. Whether it's coming from Universal or Criterion or both is anyone's guess.
