Other than the fact that Bryce Dallas Howard looks *fantabulous*, I'm in agreement. It fell rather flat with me.

I actually like that the park is open to the public. It's like visiting Disneyland but another massive attack like that, I'm not sure. They are shooting themselves in the foot. If there is a massive park failure, the park will be closed. No more movies.

Maybe they should have used another thing. The same idea of open park but something else.

I was impressed by the trailer and I like the idea of the park coming to full fruition. There have been a lot of rumored plots for another JP movie. Seems I remember there was one where they designed dinos to be soldiers. I think this (Jurassic World) is a logical extension of the original idea.

Full disclosure requires that I state I am a big JP and dinosaur fanboy. I go into the theater wanting to believe.

I wonder what that new dino looks like? I noticed in the cast list that Henry Wu is back. Guess they needed him to design the new dino.

The foot looked like T-Rex. It's maybe something T-Rex.

The identity of the engineered dino has already been leaked via Jurassic World toy announcements. If you search you'll find it.

Looks depressingly like just a rehash of everything that's already been done in prior films...just more, more, more (people and dinos).

This series has become the Friday the 13th of dinosaur movies. You come into each installment hoping for something more to open up the world, but in the end it's just Jason hacking up people we don't care about for no reason.

Like Indy/Crystal Skull, it's the fourth movie they SAID they were going to make for 10+ years, after the second movie was the Franchise-Killer, and the third was the Innocuous Apology to bury it on holy ground.
At this point, though, like the park, it pretty much means just remaking the whole first movie from scratch, to keep up with new technology and new theme-park imagery since 1992.

And, miraculously enough, it DOES look like the first film:
One (one) of the big complaints with Lost World was that Spielberg had abandoned the Disneyland wonder that was in Sam Neill's eyes in the first movie when he first sees the brachiosaurus, and went straight for the horror-movie jumps from minute one, while III was just a Jungle Jim adventure.
Here, it's like everyone's completely forgotten the events of the first two movies, and the park now seems again like the coolest place you'd ever want to go to, if not for the little....technical problems cropping up now and then.

(And before they showed the credits, I was convinced Spielberg had come back to direct this one for old times' sake, given the in-jokes about Universal Florida/Hollywood, Sea World, and the Jaws-ride shark being chomped. But no, the new guy seems to know what Steve was doing.
Now, it's just that Legendary Pictures logo that has me worried...)

In the world of sequels and prequels, I am not surprised. Creating a new dinosaur opens the door for many more Jurassic movies. Again, not suprised, but I would check it out.

Do they have Jurassic Sea World dinosaur sea creatures that eats everyone?

I'm not going to see or buy this it looks beyond dumb. Its for children. Or least I think they should make it R rating cos dinosaurs eating people is violence and should fall under a R-17 with lots of swearing. I mean if you saw someone being chewed up by a dinosaur, you be say FUCK! I'm out of here! Then it grabs you and aghhhh Oh fuckkkkkkagghhhhhh. Blood spats out in 3d in the audiences faces! lol

I don't want to see no more watered down dinosaurs films. Why don't they make, Zombie Dinosaurs the return of the living extinct.

Little boys (and I've still got a bit of that in me) are fascinated by dinosaurs. To make a movie that excludes them would eliminate a large part of the audience. I was watching dino movies in the 50's as a little boy and I hope little boys get to keep on watching them forever.

Ain't going to allow you guys to rain on my parade. Perhaps the movie will suck, but maybe not. I'll wait and see and hope for the best.

I'm always amazed how so much negativity can be gleaned from a short trailer.

Trailers are marketing tools designed to sell the film to the prospective audience. If they fail to do that, well, you get negativity. ;)

BTW Johnny, I love dinosaurs too. I was completely fascinated with them as a kid and wanted to be a paleontologist when I grew up. That hasn't left me completely. I'm still waiting for a really great dino film to be made. The original JP was OK but I think it would have been a whole lot better if it had followed the source material more closely. Crichton's novel was simply excellent IMO and then he, Spielberg, and Universal dumbed it down and turned the film into a kids movie with a small dose of blood and gore. Unfortunate. I think it would have been interesting to see what someone like David Fincher or even Christopher Nolan would have done with it.

Well, I'm with you. While I wasn't blown away by the trailer, it does hold promise. And, so long as there will be dinosaurs, I'm in! :)

The first time I heard the title Jurassic World, I thought it's about dinosaurs getting out of the island and populating the earth.

I think this looks like it could be cool. I really like that we are finally getting an actual "up and running park". I'm in
