Was earlier in receipt of Shout!'s No. 3 Hart release; wanted to show some pictures of what it looks like on the back, spine and front, plus the episode guide and menu

Thanks for sharing!

I didn't pre-order, but I will be getting this. I've had the 1st 2 season sets for years and until recently thought the series was permanently dead on DVD (besides the post-series TV movies, which I also own). So I'm glad to see this finally coming out, and with Season 4 already scheduled as well.

Thanks so much. Looks great. Can you tell us anything about the picture quality?
Looks pretty good for a Shout! release, and the audio sounds good too; inexplicably, the first couple of episodes I sampled had the No. 2 opening and closing themes.

Looking forward to this! One down two to go, to complete the essential late 70s, early 80s ABC titles for me.

How about the rest of the episodes? Do they have season 2 opening and closing?

The second season was delayed because of the 1980 strike. It's possible that the first couple of third season shows had been produced at the end of the second season and just held back. (The second season was short two episodes and the third season had two extra episodes.) So the credits may have been like that for the original broadcasts, rather than a syndication change or a Shout error.

You don´t know what kind of picture quality you get as far as Shout Factory is concerned.

They released "Simon and Simon" after Universal stalled the series and the picture quality is quite bad, especially Season 6-8.
But "Quincy" for example looks fine to me. Recently I got Season 7 and it looks very good.

I´m not surprised Season 3 looks fine because Season 1+2 looked also very good and I think Shout Factory got their master from Sony.

By the way the 8th episode of Season 3 "Hart of Darkness" featured a very young Ed Harris in one of his first roles as the villain.

Actually, the first 7 shows have that. I think that the proper opening/closing (that of No. 3) starts on the 8th episode.

Agreed…I have both and Quincy looks so much better than Simon and Simon.

The difference is Quincy, M.E. has already been transferred into HD for Netflix. If you think the DVD's look good, try streaming it in HD!

I'll have to check it out!

Seeing Hart to Hart brought goosebumps…any wonder why I loved this show back in the 80s…great show!

Picture quality is good and so is audio…I didn't know though that the screen size was going to be just like the Batman release on full version instead of widescreen.

That´s no surprise because it was filmed in 1,33:1. All the great series from the 70´s/80´s such as "Miami Vice, Magnum, Hawaii Five 0, Mannix etc... are all 1,33:1.

Was just spot-checking a few seconds ago, and the No. 2 opening/closing is again used on the last episode of Disc 4, "Blue and Broken-Harted," 2/23/82. It is used for three of the first four episodes of Disc 5 as well (only the third one on that disc, "Vintage Harts," 3/23/82, has the correct one). Fortunately, it goes back to the No. 3 O/C for all of the last disc.

Yes but seasons 1 and 2 appear widescreen on my tv when they were released by Sony. And the movies that were released also show up widescreen on my tv and not the 1:33:1

So I had picked up season 4 before getting this set. I have to say that season for started kind of weak. I feel that season 3 from what I watched so far is stronger (by the standard of light TV that this show is)
