I wrote this article a few years ago about building a home theater in my basement. The article is called " DIY internet home theater" because it is a synthesis of everything I learned online and many of the major elements were purchased from online vendors. It is highly detailed (sorry), but goes over not just construction, but the things I learned about acoustics (absorption vs isolation), construction and automation. My family has enjoyed the theater immensely. I hope this in depth article will help and inspire someone else.
