hi everyone!

Hope everyone is doing well.

It's looking more and more likely that I will be moving into a condo from my beloved duplex that I am renting (we are getting kicked out so Miley Cyrus and her wrecking ball can demolish it for state-of-the-bland condos and the LA housing market's a bit challenging these days) and I trying to come to grips with the fact that I may not be able to listen to my movies in "as close to reference as my wife can handle" levels.

I am not okay with this, but I am trying to be cool and creative and figure this out. I already have to deal with a pretty open space (gonna need new surrounds to replace the Axiom bookshelf speakers I am using), which is fine, but I really need to figure out how to manage my SVS PB10-ISD subwoofer.

I've heard about some kind of stand for a subwoofer that supposedly helps keep the sound from going down to the unit below; was curious if any of you were using this kind of thing, and, perhaps most importantly, new the name for it? Sub granny? Something clever like that?

We were planning on using some kind .5" cork subflooring material as well (we are thinking of putting in hardwood or bamboo flooring eventually) — are there specific subflooring options that you might recommend?

Thanks for any suggestions. Really not looking forward to moving but we'll see..

-mike
