I can wait until Black Friday to get this Samsung 55" 4K UHD LED TV for $899.99.

Or I can purchase the Samsung 60F8500 Plasma for 1699.98 right now. I'm leaning towards the 3-D plasma for obvious reasons as I love the plasma technology even though it's almost twice as much in price. However, it is a 60" screen with 3-D capability that the LED/4K doesn't have and is the best looking display on the market outside of OLED displays.

If price is the issue, then try looking at a Samsung 60 inch F5300 plasma. It doesn't have 3D, but it's still a Samsung plasma and it's going for $800 at Best Buy with shipping included.

Not an issue! Just ran into a problem as BB doesn't have any of the F8500 plasmas available to ship. Amazon has the same price listed, but are temporarily out of stock. Decided to order one to see if I get lucky or not.

I'm sitting here patiently waiting on this TV to show up and got Amazon to honor their Low Price Guarantee so my final sale price is $1501.95 with no sales tax.

Great Deal on the F8500,

Let me know how it compares to the Panasonic you own.

I would bet it beats the pants off of it.

I have to say I'm a very lucky dog as I'm very impressed with this display's performance and for only $1501 delivered. More to come as I go through the breaking in period with it.

Ronbo,

You were right about this plasma display. The picture quality is excellent and buying it is probably one of the best HT decisions I ever made over the last 20 something years.

Hee-Hee

That Samsung kicks the ass out of Panasonic....

...but don't tell the Panasonic fanboys that.

Better light output. Better whites. The 3D is friggin' OUTSTANDING! You can't
push 3D on a Panasonic display if it doesn't have enough light output.

As far as I am concerned, the Samsung F8500 is king of the plasmas.
