I have an infocus 7205 projector from about 10 years ago, which was a very high quality at the time. Now it shows vertical ines across the screen when it plays (it still works, just has the lines). I've tried replacing the lamp, and it didn't work.

We asked someone local to come in to look at it, and he said that it can't be repaired and we'll need to buy a new one.

I'm looking to get another opinion. It seems an issue like this should be easy to fix, so I don't understand why it can't be repaired. I'm not sure how people go about determining what is serious and what is not, but could the issue of just having vertical lines in the picture really be so serious that it couldn't be repaired?

Thanks,
Brad

Be glad it died. Every $1000-$1500 projector is going to be a monumental leap from that one. $2500 + will be in a league not even dreamt of 10 years ago.
