The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Is that a misprint about 24: The Complete Series on Blu at Best Buy?

I wasn't aware that most of the seasons were on Blu (aside from the current, I thought there were only one or two other seasons in HD).

Yes it is. Sorry! DVD only.

[Off to fix that egregious error!]

Is the Best Buy version of TDoS going to be like last year where if you wanted they 3D version you only got the 3D version and not the 2D version which meant you lose the commentary and any otter extras on the regular Blu-ray Disc?

Those Perry Mason Double Feature Movie collections on DVD (volumes 7-9) were reviewed as the box set release a few weeks ago. Buying the releases separately is really the better buy, and for fans it's definitely the way to go. That review can be found here.

Thanks, Mike!

I hope so, I bought the BB 3D Steelbook for the EE last year, and it would be nice to have a matching steelbook for this year.

I hope it's not like last year, I had to leave Best Buy and drive to Walmart just to get what I thought should have been a standard 3D edition with all the extras.

It's not in grid, so here's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Ext. Ed. 3-D on Amazon (currently $32.97): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MG4X9X8
Thanks, Dave! Don't know why I couldn't find that when I was looking. Maybe because it doesn't have 3-D in the product listing? Maybe because it wasn't posted yet? Or maybe I just need a new glasses prescription!

I'm assuming that The Big Lebowski Limited Edition Steelbook is a simple repackaging/regurgitation of the existing (DNRed to death) transfer. Does anyone know for sure?

I was wondering the same thing. That would be a guaranteed purchase for me if it's a new transfer.

Cancelling Planes 2. I'm sure it'll end up on the shelf at some point in the future, but it won't be this week. Too many other things happening right now.

All those steels will contain the same movie content as before. Only the case is new, maybe the digital copy is new for some.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, if I'm interested in purchasing the 3D Hobbit DOS blu ray, there is no exclusive content for any retailer or e-tailer, and they're all within pennies of each other? If so I'll just buy it from Target because I walk by one on the way to work.

As far as I can tell, the content of the 3D disc release is all the same.

I guess my operative phrase was "within pennies of each other" - I did see the statue exclusive but given how many times I've unboxed and looked at the various statues, bookends, etc. of my deluxe editions of LoTR...I think I'm going to save $50 on this one.

And as far as I can tell, even with the Amazon statue exclusive, there's no extra video content on it anyway, so literally they're charging $50 for the poly-resin barrel statue only, right?
