MAHWAH, NJ (October 30, 2014) – Sharp today announced the availability of the highly anticipated AQUOS 4K UD27 line, a series of THX 4K Certified Ultra HD LED TVs and the Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player, the first wireless high resolution audio player on the market. Sharp continues to be a leader in high resolution technology and provides consumers with superior products that offer quality and technical innovation for extremely accurate reproduction of the content. Product demo events will take place on November 6th at Video & Audio Center in Santa Monica, California and on November 13th at Value Electronics in Scarsdale, New York.

“Sharp’s dedication to high resolution technology is evident with the release of the newest AQUOS 4K Ultra TVs and the Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player,” said John Herrington, President, Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America. “Both products provide consumers with the ultimate viewing and listening experiences and illustrate Sharp’s commitment to cutting edge technology.”

Our most amazing AQUOS® TV yet
The new Sharp AQUOS Ultra HD TVs are THX 4K Certified, meaning they have passed more than 400 picture quality tests to ensure that every pixel delivers precisely the scene the direct intended. The AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TVs feature a new SPECTROS™ Rich Color Display, which boasts a 21% wider color spectrum than conventional LED HDTVs to produce more vibrant and diverse color. With SPECTROS, the Sharp AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TV can display more color than any AQUOS TV has previously shown and sets a standard no leading competitors can match. Each frame is brilliantly recreated with more realistic landscapes, lush nature scenes and natural skin tones.

See the AQUOS 4K Ultra HD difference in everything you watch. Sharp’s proprietary Revelation Upscaler™ displays all HD content at brilliant 4K Ultra HD resolution. AquoDimming™ Technology automatically enhances contrast for darker blacks and whiter whites. Powerful, real-time image processing analyzes the picture and adjusts the contrast individually for more than 8 million pixels to reveal more detail in your HD content. AquoMotion™ 480 Refresh Rate delivers images that are crystal clear, even during fast action scenes.

The Sharp AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TV is equipped with the latest codec’s to enjoy 4K streaming from providers like Netflix1 and the latest inputs, so you can connect today’s 4K media players and those you may purchase in the future. As 4K Ultra HD technology evolves, your AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TV will be ready; the AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TV features four HDMI® inputs that can accept native 4K (3840 x 2160) signals at up to 60 frames per second (fps), for smoother motion and the latest standards in content encoding.

SmartCentral™ 3.0 brings all your favorite content together in one place. Browse and search cable, satellite and streaming services from a single screen or directly access the best apps from the same experience. Plus, control and navigation are in the palm of your hand with the SmartCentral 3.0 mobile app. Use your tablet or smartphone to browse, search and select content without interrupting what you’re already watching.

A larger screen makes the difference between TV and breathtaking TV. Sharp’s 70” (69.5” diag.) class TV makes things larger than life with 16% more viewing area than a 65” class; and the 60” class provides 20% more viewing area than a 55”. Sharp’s 70” (69.5” diag.) class AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TV is the largest TV currently available with THX 4K certification2.

The AQUOS 4K Ultra HD TV’s flagship design allows the TV to look as beautiful off as it does on. It is built with a solid metal core, the finest grade materials, with a slim profile and a near frameless design. It now has a 50% thinner, ultra-narrow bezel3 with a sleek, modern stand.

Sharp is also the only brand to offer Wallpaper Mode, turning your TV into a 4K photo frame. Display your family photos on the most beautiful canvas in your home with museum-like effect, while your TV is powered off. Any photo 8MP or higher can be seen at full 4K UHD resolution.

Experience every note of your high resolution music files
Sharp continues to broaden their offerings in the high resolution space and for the first time, listeners can experience uncompressed, lossless, high resolution (24bit/96kHz) audio delivered without wires with the Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player. To achieve audiophile quality sound, the Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player uses the Wireless Speakers and Audio (WiSA) standard to transmit at the less densely packed 5.2-5.8 GHz band. This eliminates potential interference, which occurs when using other wireless technologies that transmit at more crowded frequency bands. Long cables can degrade a signal and that is why eliminating or reducing cables facilitates the delivery of audiophile-quality (24bit/96kHz) uncompressed audio.

This one of a kind Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player allows you to hear FLAC, WAV and DSD files at up to 24bit/96kHz fidelity. The media player supports an extremely wide variety of physical and digital media formats and can access files through a built-in SACD and Blu-ray™ drive or on a hard drive (via USB). It can also connect to a home network to access files stored on a network-attached storage device. The Sharp player transmits uncompressed Full HD (1080p) video to your TV wirelessly using the Wireless HD (WiHD) standard and included adapters. The Sharp Wireless High Resolution Audio Player will allow you to access to your media library, through the easy-to-navigate compatible free mobile app, available for iOS and Android. The Sharp mobile app enables you to quickly create playlists, filter by genre, artist or album and access full file details, all from your mobile device.

High quality audio signals from the Wireless High Resolution Audio Player can be transmitted to any WiSA-compliant speaker system, or to any traditional audio system via the Sharp Wireless Bridge (VR-WR100U), in any configuration from 2.0 up to 7.1. Together they can bring the full freedom and fidelity of high resolution music to any audio system.

Sophisticated construction techniques and premium materials give Sharp’s Wireless High Resolution Audio Player absolute fidelity and supreme reliability. From all power supply components to all audio path components, only the finest components have been selected.

Probably place holder. There is a lot "unknown" with the Sharp audio player.Every website is mentioning it...with no real details. This, by the way, is the first "print" on the bridge(wasn't aware it could be brought up yet).(Wholesalers have known about the TV since June. The audio player broke in late July. The bridge was supposed to be mentioned after the audio player made retail. Guess that changed. My former employer, with an office in Chicago I go to 3-4 times a year to buy stuff, is THE wholesaler in the US for Sharp.Sharp ships TV to the US 3 times a year. product through "Super Bowl Sunday" is already sitting in a warehouse in California collecting dust.)
