Mr. Stone's initial directorial effort, Salvador is the antithesis of the types of propaganda that might be turned out by a nation's tourist board.

Following the exploits of a pair of American journalists, this is not what one would view for a date movie or going out for a fun evening.

The Twilight Time release of the 1986 production, with foreign locations filmed in Mexico, is generally good-looking, without any real problems. The image appears to have come from an IP, and the tiny problems, nothing that's a game-killer, could have been corrected by a day or so or color and density correction. But that gets into dollars.

A quality film on and good Blu-ray effort.

Mr Harris has forgotten Seizure (1974) and The Hand (1981) as earlier works by Mr Stone. He is forgiven for doing so.

I think Mr. Stone would probably prefer that those two films remain forgotten. :)
