Really shouldn't be asking this, or even looking at this Craigslist ad due to the fact that I just ordered a Sony HW40ES along with a 110" Carada Screen, but I'm just curious here.

I stumbled across this craigslist ad:

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/ele/4715139075.html

From the research I did, a lot of that equipment is from 2006-2007, so somewhat old but after Blu-Ray and 1080p came into the picture, and I know that speakers will last a long time, age doesn't necessarily matter with them. All the equipment seems nice, and it seems to have cost a lot when it released, maybe not his quoted price but a lot. Only thing I couldn't research was that projector, seeing as I can't see a model number.

What do you guys think, does that stuff look like a good deal or no? Seems like it but it's also slightly dated so I'm not sure. Once again, not seriously looking to buy it, just curious.

Even though it's old that's a solid receiver.

The Alpha's are nice but a complete Beta system (Beta 50's, 20's, es250's and a C360) could eventually be found for $500-$600. Not sure about the value of the Carver sub but the whole audio part is maybe $1500?

I don't know much about projectors but they have come a long, long way since 2007.

$700 in cables? I'll pass.

I'd only be interested in the receiver and the sub.

Speakers can be a great deal on CL. But not those. Move on :) .

A guy in the S.F Bay Area is selling a pair of Paradigm Studio 60's V2, ADP 190's and a cc 450 for $400. That's what you should be looking for.

The Studio 20's have been sold http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/ele/4719063357.html

Oh, congrats on the screen and projector.

Alright, sounds good, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on an awesome deal or anything.

As for the projector, I was originally gonna go with a BenQ W1070, but seeing as the Sony is on sale for $2000, I figured I should step it up. The screen was more expensive than I originally planned on spending on a screen, but I was told it's a really good one and good fit for the Sony projector.

Now the weakest part of my setup is without a doubt my speakers, which are energy Take 5, paired with a BIC 12" sub. I'll upgrade them eventually, and when I do, I'll be sure to check craigslist, thanks for the advice!
