Just got aboard here, late this Sunday afternoon.

Hope I can contribute some ideas from an interesting perspective, at least once in a while, anyway.

Even living in the hinterlands of Northeast Ohio, it's so cool to know that it takes just a few key strokes to reach people who could be anywhere and make up an endless stream of ideas and information.

Some say that the internet, computers, and all the portable tech devices we are connected to, can serve to isolate us and make us less social as people. However, forums like this can have the opposite effect, causing people like me to tear themselves away from the TV, or pull their noses out of a book, so that they can actually communicate with other people.

And with that, I'd better get off my soapbox. My name's Mike, and I'm glad to be a member.

BTW, originally discovered this forum through reading about the film restoration work of Robert A Harris, and later doing Google searches on Mr Harris and his opinions on certain films. Figured this had to be a great forum with a fascinating guy like RAH contributing to it.

Thanks for the welcome Tino. I too, appreciate a forum that generates light rather than heat.

And I see Mike Frezon, along with a welcome, also extending a friendly warning about the potentially addictive properties of this forum. Well, at least it's just a risk of an addiction far less dangerous than ones we could all name.

Hey, I grew up in Levittown New York, and Tino I see you're in the NYC Metro area, and Mike you're up in Rensselaer, so hope no one develops any conspiracy theories just because the first two members to welcome me on this thread happen to be fellow New Yorkers. Of course I'm kidding, but we could always tell folks that we are each a member of one of " New York's Five Families ".

Anyhow, it's getting pretty late, so my apologies, if that last comment fell into the category that my high school chemistry teacher used to refer to as
" from hunger ".

Hey Sam. Really appreciate all the welcomes from HTF members like yourself.

You know, as Tino indicated, this forum really seems like it is a friendlier place to hold discussions, than many other locations on the internet.

I wouldn't disparage any of those places by name, because why should any of us use our energies just to create more negativity. Also, it would be nice if we could get our politicians to follow suit on that.
