From the creator of the beloved and mourned Happy Ending comes Marry Me, starring Casey Wilson and Ken Marino. In a nutshell, it's what would happen if Penny Hartz moved out of Chicago and finally got engaged. Happy Endings fans should be ecstatic over what's essentially a Penny spin-off -- the same rapid-fire dialog, the same pop culture references, and the same joke density. I laughed hard at this one, and for a pilot, it hit the ground running, both really hard and really fast. I had to rest my thumb on the rewind button of my DVR remote because I was laughing so hard I kept missing the next joke.

Funniest thing I've seen all season.

Not a fan of the Casey Wilson character so far, but I did LOL when she got scared by her friend hiding in the closet and ran into the wall. But I kept wondering why the guy (Ken Marino's character) would want to marry this crazy woman.

Because she is his little exploding challenger!

I found her character annoying in "Happy Endings" so I guess I'm out on this one.

As much as I love this show already, the second outing was no more than a 'B' for me. Lots of cracking gags and plenty of rewind moments, but the jokes didn't land as big or as often as they did on the pilot. But for the people who were complaining about the lack of involvement from the supporting cast, the second episode did a lot more in that department.

The changing of the soups was a highlight, but what got the biggest laugh from me was when Annie pointed out how she had a good sized TV and pointed to a 19" perched on top shelf of the bookcase all the way on the left.

Still very happy this show exists.

I tried the pilot, and it's not for me. I quit after ten minutes. It had funny lines, but the characters weren't people I wanted to spend time with.

If this show were only about Annie and Jake, I would probably end up dropping it eventually. But, for the second episode I really enjoyed the supporting cast and hope they keep them in the foreground. That whole group dynamic will keep me around.

And for the first time ever I actually enjoy Tim Meadows in a roll that isn't SNL.
