I have a Samsung hte6500w blue ray system with wireless tx card connected to both rear speakers. The connections are as follows. LCD TV connected to BR via HDMI. Computer system connected to BR. I watch all my movies from the computer, avi, mp4, mkv, etc. In order to watch the computer I need to switch my input to the BR and then from the BR switch it's input to the hdmi. The problem is I cannot force the system to go into 5.1. Some of the movies I have are not 5.1 coded. I have a system in another part of the house with that is connected the same way other then the system is not BR it's just a 5.1 receiver so I can force all speakers to produce sound. I'm figuring I need to get a receiver? I would like to remove the BR because I don't use it for anything other then a sound system. But I need to keep the wireless connections to the rear speakers. Reason being is the system is in the basement and it's not possible to run any wires that would not be stepped on or tripped over. I'm looking for recommendations on how to go about this. I figure I will need to stay in the Samsung family in order for the wireless rear speakers to work? But I'm not seeing any Samsung receivers that offer rear wireless. Maybe I'm not looking in enough places, I checked out Crutchfield, bestbuy, amazon and ebay. Nothing. I'm not against replacing the whole system but I like the speakers. I also don't really want to go through the hassle of selling it on craigslist if I don't have to. Thanks for any help that's provided.
