New Girl Season 4 (1 Viewer)

Noticed something during episode 4 Micro. Zooey Deschanel's face looked a little different like she has done surgery.
She is doing injection or something, her mouth and upper lips looked numb. It was distracting.

I hope she doesn't do surgery and doesn't become like Courteney Cox. Don't understand why actors do it. Just age naturally.

I'm just glad they are done with the Jess and Nick stuff, it weighted last season down. But it's been an odd start to the season.

I didn't notice much difference in Zooey's facial appearance, though.

How is it compared to previous season? I stopped midway through S3, I think. After the a Prince or the camping/Thanksgiving episode? There was a ne'er-do-well sister, too. It had become very random, for my tastes.

You can definitely say there is something wrong with her lips.

3rd season was bad really went off the rails.

I think of the exact opposite of what Patrick said. I think it was a bad idea they broke up Nick and Jess. ...and the show was never really good.

Just watched the season finale 4x22 Clean Break. It was decent. The first time that I laughed several times watching an episode of this show for a long time.


Is this show coming back? Coach left the show by the way. The balance might get better. They need to introduce another woman to balance out perhaps. It was 4 guys, 2 women.

Yeah but it's coming back in January. From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_New_Girl_episodes):

On March 31, 2015, New Girl was renewed for a fifth season.[1] The show remained in production after wrapping season four in order to get a jump on season 5 ahead of Deschanel's maternity leave,[2] although Deschanel will be absent in four episodes of the season.[3] This season will not premiere in the Fall but instead January 2016, with what FOX states to be "its first-ever season of virtually uninterrupted originals."[4]

4 episodes without her? That's interesting. She is the lead, not sure if that works. They can just wait and not make those 4. I heard that this season 5 could be the last.

Re: more female characters; are the 'hot' neighbors still attached? I know Daddario has to have a full plate after her True Detective buzz.


Re: 4 eps without Deschanel; I'd be more worried if the rest of the ensemble weren't so funny. Perhaps I watch New Girl differently than the core audience, but I'm not emotionally invested in their lives and fates so much as I enjoy funny people doing silly stuff for a 1/2 hour.

I'm happily surprised that this is getting a 5th season. I thought for sure it was gonna get the axe after this 4th. But I've very much kept interested in this series throughout, so I'm happy about it. I'm sure it'll be the last if they're holding off till January. I don't like the idea of Zooey missing a few episodes though.

I was surprised it got renewed for a fifth season, even though it is one of my favourite shows to watch. The only reason I'm surprised is because the ratings were so low. I can't understand why people don't love this show. I can't understand how a show like Two and a Half Men stays on the air for 10 years or so with the same sexist jokes every episode while a series like New Girl struggles for viewers. I think it's a fresh take on comedy, the characters have tons of personality and the cast have great chemistry. It will be a show like Friends for me, whereas I will see an episode in 10 years and I'll still be laughing hysterically.
