I am recently hooked to TWD and eagerly waiting for season 5 airing this 12th of October. I’m scared of watching zombie movies before but TWD helped me through it and I finally moved on lol. This is a great show with a great cast. I’m so excited for season 5.

Thanks for the reminder. Got a new DVR receiver a few months ago so had to redo all my timers, but with Dish, can't add shows until about a week or so before they air, when they finally show up on the schedule. Re-programmed in time for the new season. :)

Yep, can't wait. I love this show. I haven't read the comics, but just from the last episode I'm thinking that the terminus folks are canibals. Can't wait to see Rick eff 'em up, though I expect someone significant will be biting it soon.

This show nearly lost me during Glen Mazzara's tenure as showrunner after Frank Darabont was fired, but man has Scott M. Gimple turned it around. For my money, this season premiere was the strongest premiere since the series premiere. After getting the shit kicked out of them in the latter half of the fourth season -- which made for some great television -- it was really nice to see everybody close ranks behind Rick as a cohesive unit again. And then the moment at the end with Rick and Carl reunited with Judith was earned because we saw the hell that Carol and Tyrese had to go through to make it happen. While there was no sign of Beth in tonight's premiere, Emily Kinney was promoted to the credit sequence. So it looks like at some point soon we'll find out what happened to her after she was kidnapped by the car with the white cross.

Carol was an absolute BAD ASSSSS in the season five premiere. I mean Damn!, shooting someone in the leg and then ringing the dinner bell for the walkers. Shane would've been proud. :)

Just non-stop mayhem at Terminus this evening. I was really surprised that it was put behind them (I guess) so quickly. Interesting use of a fragmented (time-wise) narrative to show us how the Terminus folks became the way that they are in the here and now. A cautionary tale for our band of survivors? As I've stated before I've always loved the show's examination of ethics in the Zombie Apocalypse and this kind of feels like familiar territory. I believe we are introduced to a Priest next week which may factor into this plot element. Great start for the season. (If I'm not mistaken I think the Priest is portrayed by Seth Gilliam.)

Yeah, his name is
Gabriel.
And it's nice to see Seth Gilliam again because if there's one thing this show needs, it's some more cast members from The Wire.

Always nice to see him pop up on anything. I just hope his commitments here don't keep him off "Teen Wolf" next season. Gilliam is absolutely terrific as the veterinarian (who is a lot more than just a veterinarian) on that show.

One of the best episodes ever. Rick has a HUGE posse now, that's a lot of mouths to feed and worry about and he's over the line now, he's willing to do the things his pardner Shane said he could never do.Carol is badass! One quandry: I'm not buying Tyrese maintaining his stocky frame in this world =)

This show does premieres well, and that was the best premiere of them all!

It's pretty amazing to see how Carol has evolved. She could easily be the team leader now. She is just like Rick in her steely determination and ability to make tough survival choices. She's good, but she understands some bad things must be done to survive.

Nice speech by Eugene. Dude clearly has no idea about any 'cure'. Almost sounded like he was reciting memorized text off the back of a bad video game.
Let's just get Morgan with the group ASAP! Lennie rules.

As most have said already, that was a very awesome start to the season. This show is really coming along and clicking well now. It's a character driven show, much like Lost, although exploring some different aspects.

Carol was indeed the most impressive and a TRUE bad ass, compared to no other right now except maybe Rick or Darryl. I just loved how well her character was written and how it played out. One thing that would've been funny, is the song "How Do You Like Me Now" playing in the background at the compound (somehow). I know, it was creepier and more tense like this, but still that would be funny as heck.

Can't wait to see this season unfold now.

Agreed.. Very strong opening.

Hoping they can sustain this momentum and put out a good season!

I don't quite buy the justification for what they were doing..

Sure, be extra cautious with people in the future.. But to straight up start eating them? Hmmm.. :)

That does seem a bit extreme, but when your ethos can be summed up in the phrase "Be the butcher or be the cattle" there aren't a lot of other options. :)
