The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

I'll be picking up 24: Live Another Day. All things considered, I thought they ended up doing a really great job with brining 24 back.

Chef was a nice little movie and worth a rental.

Thanks for the prices, Mike! :)

Thanks so much for the RoundUp, Mike.

I had put in for several of this week's releases to review (24, The Mentalist, Sherlock Holmes), but it's always so iffy now about whether things get sent or not. My motto now is hope for the best but don't count on anything.

Warners had reduced the prices on the individual releases of Funny Face and Sabrina, so I could save a couple of dollars getting them individually instead of getting the Audrey Hepburn Collection which also contains Breakfast at Tiffanys which I already had.

Got Krull coming from Amazon this week, but that's about it. I'll wait on a super good sale price for Transformers (hey...I have the other three, so why not this one, too?).

I'll also give a huge recommendation to Chef. Excellent movie...basically food porn with terrific performances.

So, if I'm reading this correctly, we shouldn't schedule a double feature of Big Night and Chef for an Over-Eaters Anonymous meeting

I'd add Babette's Feast (for its spiritual message about food and the senses) and La grande bouffe as the grand finale. If you don't know what La grande bouffe is about, check Imdb for a plot synopsis. It qualifies as food and porn.

Yep, without a doubt, Tony. The food is so lovingly shot and created, it's impossible not to want to eat everything you see. (It's a really good movie, too!)

I wanted to devour every single piece of food in the movie. I don't like cubano sammies and I WANTED one at the end. I would have also eaten: grilled cheese, a leather shoe with alfredo sauce, dirt and batteries. That's how hungry the movie made our entire group.

I'd want to do a marathon of food movies with Chef, Ratatouille, The 100-Foot Journey and Julie and Julia. I think my stomach would be eating itself at that point.

I should have my review of Transformers: Age of Extinction (3D) up this evening - and will be working on posting my review of Ivory Tower (documentary,) and my interview with the film's director this week as well.

Krull is one of those movies I really enjoyed back in the day, but I'm afraid it won't hold up well without the veil of nostalgia. I'll probably pass on it. I'll rent Chef and I may pickup T4 sometime in the future just because.

Even if my memory of Krull is nostalgic, for under $10, it was a no brainer for me. And something tells me I'll enjoy rewatching it!

Links have been added to the OP for Neil's review of Transformers: Age of Extinction (3-D) and Timothy's review of Betty Boop: Volume 4.

I decided to go the easy route and ordered Chef and 24: Live Another Day from Amazon this week. I haven't been getting out to too many stores lately. Amazon is a godsend in that regard.

I'm in for CHEF this week too. I wanted to recommend COLD IN JULY though -- it's not getting very much press, and its theatrical release was decidedly quiet, but it's a really solid, entertaining thriller and well worth at least a rent. I might get it too, funds permitting.
