I just saw the AVR part. I have some questions for you.

[*]First of all what is your budget for the AVR?
[*]Are you looking for a 5.1 or 7.1? Atmos interest?
[*]Do you need two zone?
[*]What about bluetooth?
[*]Wifi or wired ethernet something you're interested in?
[*]How many HDMI inputs do you need?
[/list]

My point on this is speaker selection is very subjective. What I like you might not. I would suggest that you go and try to listen to some of those that you picked to to see what you prefer. The Magnolia store in some Best Buys is a good place to start. That might help you narrow it down.

As far as the AVR is concerned I would look at this Denon S700 for $450 if need to have integrated wifi under $500.

The only problem with this is that the OP mentioned that these speakers aren't available in his country, therefore he can't listen to them and he probably can't go to best buy.

If I missed that then I'm sorry but I don't remember that detail in the original post.

Do you plan on listening to music in 2.0?If so...pick the one that has the lowest frequency extension (which is probably the Def Tech).

I think that any music listening is going to have to be in a 2.1 setup as none of those sets have true books. They all look like satellite sets with a smaller sub for the low end. However, I think you're right Sam that according to the specs the DT go the lowest. I'm suspect of the 50hz out of a 3 inch speaker but that's just me.

Def Tech uses a passive radiator. Every speaker that uses one reaches another half octave over pure sealed(cabinet volume/drivers being equal).(Look up Polk SDA. Polk did remarkable things with them at one time. But since the merge, Polk and Def Tech are the same company)

I was looking at some other DT books the other day and noticed that it used a radiator but I really didn't pay attention to the use of one on the set the OP linked. Interesting way they actually put one on the small satellite speakers. I'm curious to hear if it really makes that much difference.

You really should listen to as many of them as you can because I honestly would not pick one never hearing what they sound like.
