One of my favorite westerns from my childhood has finally been released on a video format that I can enjoy the reminder of my life. For many years, I've waited patiently for a decent home video presentation of this fine western. I almost gave up hope then Olive surprised me by indicating this title would not only be released in 2014, but on BD to boot which I never expected in my wildest dreams. I was a little worried that Olive would screw the pooch with this title, but that didn't happen in this case, as I think this is one of Olive's better releases PQ-wise. Most of my previous grades for Olive BD releases has been in the 2.5-3.0 range. On occasion there have been a few 3.5 grades. However, with this release, I'll give them a 4.0 grade for this Technicolor film.
I'm a very happy camper as I look forward to watching Distant Drums over the next few days.
