Wonder what John Wells will have to say about this?Bob Furmanek said:While we won't get the credit, I believe our aspect ratio research has played a part in this film finally being seen in widescreen again - as the director intended!
Marty and this film were both released in 1955. Bob Furmanek supplied Kino with all the scholarly documentation about the OARs. Do you have any doubts about what the great scholar Wells will have to say? And will the savants at Kino once again follow his sage advice?ahollis said:Wonder what John Wells will have to say about this?
It won't be. The hd source from MGM is very nice. And it'll be 1.66:1.John Sparks said:Preordered mine, hope it's not a dud, print wise.
That's good to hear. Let's wait until the release just to make sure. I'm still upset over the other 1955 release and Kino's flip-flop.bgart13 said:It won't be. The hd source from MGM is very nice. And it'll be 1.66:1.
I have no doubt at all. I'm anxious to see if facts override boxy or well there be another discussion.bujaki said:Marty and this film were both released in 1955. Yep, it's already confirmed. MisterLime even said it would be back when this was first announced.bgart13 said:MGM is doing or has done the transfer at 1.66.

It's already a well-worn discussion. All prior UK DVDs were stubbornly open-matte as was the MGM MOD. Kino is actually bucking the trend here. Has this ever been presented in widescreen on home video before?ahollis said:I have no doubt at all. I'm anxious to see if facts override boxy or well there be another discussion.
