I recently bought a Laser BD1000 Blu-ray player. Mainly because they are region free for Blu-ray.
I've only had it for, I guess, 4 or 5 weeks and it's been marvellous, but last night it froze up during playback. I tried using the remote to stop or eject the disc. Nothing. Tried ejecting on the unit itself. Nothing. Finally had to switch off the unit at the wall, and start again. I managed to get the disc back to where it froze and it played right through it, so I think the machine itself may have had some sort of spasm.
I emailed Laser this morning and they instructed me to just monitor the situation for now. They also said that the problem may be fixed with a firmware upgrade, which they would provide, but I just wanted to see what other people's advice would be.
