A fun little film.  Shot as a very low-budget indie using the Tiffany infrastructure, it (somehow) acquired Bela Lugosi, David Manners and Edward Van Sloan, in a film directed by Edwin L. Marin.  Mr. Marin went on to direct quite a few (mostly B) detective, back stage and westerns over the next couple of decades.

The film was photographed by Norbert Brodine, who went on to shoot some of the Topper films, before taking up residency at Fox.

The Death Kiss, which is being released via Kino, is a restoration performed by the Library of Congress, with footage accessed from UCLA.

Tech surprises are included, and I'll not go there.

Copied from a 35mm nitrate print that had a good bit of use, the non-digitally cleaned up Blu-ray has a nice gray scale, good original grain, and as printed through from the original, an interesting selection of positive and negative dirt and scratches.

This is one of those "it is what it is," situations.

It is a public domain film, and not a film that survives within any studio vaults.

Checking on Amazon, there is not yet a release date or price.  Hopefully, it will street in the mid-teens, which would make it very interesting, both as film history, as well as the history of film and the way that they were produced c. 1932.
