I'm looking to get a receiver that has Audyssey. The Denon AVR-E300 has it. But the manual says that if you change the speaker settings after you run Audyssey,
If you change the speaker settings after performing Audyssey
®
Setup, it will not be possible to
set Audyssey MultEQ
®
, Audyssey Dynamic EQ
®
and Audyssey Dynamic Volume

That's the entire reason that I want a new receiver. If I run Audyssey, the audio will not be balanced from left to right. If I left it just as it's set, the sound will be coming from off to the right. I want Audyssey so that I can smooth out DTS tracks because the dynamic range is just too much. So, if I run Audyssey, then change the speakers to balance out the sound, I wouldn't be able to use the one single function that I' be buying the receiver for.

Any ideas ?

You don't have to use Audyssey to calibrate your system. It's only a bit easier that way. You can do it manually if you get an SPL (sound pressure level) meter. The one I and many other use is an analog model that Radio Shack used to carry - can't seem to find one online. There are some digital models available that may work well, too. There are many threads on this forum and others that describe how to properly use a meter to set your speakers levels correctly. Once that's done, you can then apply the other whiz-bang features of the AVR.
