Sidney Pollack's third film, the 1968 The Scalphunters finds dual service.
This frothy trifle of a western fills in two voids for me as a completist of film careers - two greats -- Burt Lancaster and Mr. Pollack.
I've gotten to a point, after viewing a decent number of the Kino Lorber MGM releases, not to presume anything, as the master delivered to them is what we receive on Blu-ray.
The Scalphunters is a pleasant surprise. A good-looking Blu-ray from what appears to be a clean, well-produced IP. Quality color, shadow detail and clean audio.
A decidedly fun film, that may not be to all tastes.
The score of Elmer Bernstein stands out.
