ALIEN isolated scores and additional scoring tracks on the ALIEN bluray quad.
Has anyone taken the time to listen to the isolated tracks? Ir can be dull at times watching the film with no sound effects and dialogue between scenes where no score has been fitted in, but that's the point of the isolated score.
I gather most of this is feature on some deluxe or expanded soundtrack CD, but not in Dolby Digital 5.1.
A L I E N (1979) Jerry Goldsmith
Dolby Digital 5.1
The score at the start has chillness (stating the the obvious) but its become a classic with some notes that sound bit alike Planet of the Apes in with clung, clung, clung, during the opening titles.
There are some tracks not included on the bluray isolated track when the acid burns though the ships decks the music cuts at the point it lands on the floor after few seconds but on the film mix its continued on.
Chapter 19, disappointing no isolated score on Audio channel 10 expect for alternate track on Audio channel 11.
Chapter 25, no isolated track, when Ripley, is looking for Jones the cat on the bridge.
Just before the appearance of ALIEN again starting towards end of chapter 25 and continuing on while it has Parker and Lambert for dinner.
Its not what I'd call a true isolated score to the film more like jumbled up CD synced with bluray with a few missing tracks.
Chapter 32, end credits Romantic not on any of the audio channels 10 and 11 expect alternate tracks. Fox needs to look up the word Isolated score in a dictionary book if there is such a word that exists. I think I've listened to better ones on youtube for free, not isolated but complete score to the film along with alternate tracks.

Its least my favorite score and maybe the film as a whole, still there is ALIEN and ALIENS.
