These are "Best Picture of the Year" nominees that have not had a bluray release. In addition--Richard Dreyfuss won an oscar for "Best Actor" for GBG and Timothy Hutton won "Best supporting actor for OP.[ He really should of won best actor.] These were big hits when they came out.

Seconded on The Goodbye Girl. And don't forget the great performances of Marsha Mason and the late Paul Benedict. Why this movie hasn't seen a decent Blu release is beyond me. Maybe a music rights issue with David Gates. I listed it in my Favourite 70s thread.

I'd love "Goodbye Girl" - was just talking about it the other day. Great movie.

I don't think "Ordinary People" even got an anamorphic release in the US, and the version we did get looks awful. I resorted to getting the anamorphic UK release, which isn't significantly better. Amazon has it streaming in HD, so at least there is some sort of HD master out there.

The U.S. Paramount dvd release was indeed anamorphic.

And let's not forget A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS and TOM JONES (eh, Twilight Time?) AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS (Listening, Warner Bros...my understanding is you have already prepared an HD of this for broadcast and streaming...).

I have no doubt we will see both these titles eventually.

Would not be surprised if they are part of the Warner/Paramount deal.

The Goodbye Girl is a great film that belongs on blu-ray. Ordinary People too, but that's self-explanatory.

Another Richard Dreyfuss masterpiece I would love to see on blu-ray is Whose Life is it Anyway? (1981). These two films showcase how underrated Richard Dreyfuss is as an actor.

It's also puzzling that an HD version of "The Goodbye Girl" hasn't been made available for streaming/downloading (iTunes and Vudu offer SD versions only), since HDNet Movies ran an HD version of "The Goodbye Girl" years ago. I remember seeing "The Goodbye Girl" on HDNet Movies a year or two before Time Warner Cable dropped the channel in the spring of 2009.

Dick- Check TT facebook page today. They confirm what I said.
I believe you. I don't use Facebook and can't find any post there without signing up for it that indicates this, but I am pleased to hear it's coming.
