And the award for worst performance in a 3D movie (and probably any other kind) goes to . . . Paz de la Huerta.
This bizarre tale of a serial killer nurse is quite entertaining with some decent 3D photography but is unfortunately holed below the waterline by Ms. de la Huerta's dire acting.
Cast as the supposed sex bomb who can make you forget your native language just by walking past, she really fails to detonate.
As the whole thing descends into a CGI bloodbath it's impossible not to think how much better it would have been with a different lead.
See it at your own risk.

On the commentary, the director mentions how she showed up one day tanned throwing off continuity. When asked about it she shrugged it off. I was hoping on the same commentary that the director would explain Kathleen Turner's short screen time. Also (spoiler) why would a serial killer who changes her identity sport a large tattoo in such a unique place? This, like Texas Chainsaw had great 3d cinematography but the story was...... Got it from Netflix!

I have heard the film was edited to remove things for an R rating, is this the version on the disc. ?

Read that interview linked to above, looks like the studio really messed with this release, a snippet below.

On top of that, and I know many will call me a fool for saying this, I needed to compensate for the 3D projection screens and the dreaded glasses. With all of that put together, I was compensating around 2 1/2 stops. My Alexas were now (rated) at 160 ISO! On top of that, I devised some very crushed looks into LUTs so my latitude was less than eight stops. Doug really wanted a “Tony Scott look” so we went for high contrast and bold colors – unfortunately, the studio released the film without this look. The version I approved never made it to the theaters or video, to my surprise and disappointment. All that difficulty and a month of playing with looks for nothing.

I wonder if Ms. de la Huerta actually owns any clothes and if so, why she appears to have so much trouble locating them.[/quote

She does appear in The Limits of Control as...

Nude.
ENTER THE VOID as well. Met her once and what You see is what I didn't get!

Yeah the disc version is edited...Katrina Bowden takes a shower in underpants in the R rated one. Paz's performance is sort of like Brando's in the Island of Dr Moreau or Voight in Anaconda loopy and fascinating. Clearly it was so low budget they couldn't recast.

This story isn't over yet. Ms de la Huerta is suing the director for allegedly ruining her career. You couldn't make it up.

Her "major" lunacy started while filming this movie. She was fine(by her standards) on BE. Then after this movie, the ensuing crap on BE started.

So...maybe there is merit.

I've seen everything she has been in and if she is now on a pain killer binge...

Rumor was, during filming of A Walk to Remember, she wanted to "sleep with everybody"...

In interviews she "loves to be naked and have sex".

Wouldn't be surprised if spouses don't want her involved in movies with her. Add in this...
