If this is true, we have not only this wonderful Capra classic to look forward to before the New Year, but a Criterion-produced "It Happened One Night" AND "A Pocketful Of Miracles" from Kino-Lorber...HALLELUJAH!!!

I guess the rumors that this would be coming from Criterion turned out to be false. According to Bluray.com this will be a Sony release. I'm all for skipping the boutique pricing!

Looks like Sony will be releasing some of these themselves. First deep-catalog blu from them in ages. Now I wonder who will get Mr Deeds Goes to Town...

They did From Here to Eternity in the Fall last year. Maybe the goal is one per year from them of the big remasterings in the US? They do put out many more 4K remastered titles abroad themselves.

Amen to that!

The Film Forum in NYC is going to be doing a Capra retrospective in October, and they're showing Mr. Smith Goes To Washington, Mr. Deeds Goes To Town, It Happened One Night, You Can't Take It With You, and Lost Horizon in new 4K DCPs:

(Not the same as having a Blu-ray available for purchase, but for anyone in the area, I think it's gonna be fun.)

My favorite part of this press release - that banner across the bottom of the picture "Capra Collection".Hopefully this indicates that the other Columbia Capra titles will be released soon.
