There's over 150 toons on this release but only 65 come with English audio. I don't have the release but there are comments on Amazon claiming that French subs are forced with English audio and another saying they are optional .
I would bet they are forced . Of course its possible to remove forced subs with a modified player , or playing on a PC or if you copy the discs .
Comments state the quality is almost VHS so it's not a release to worry about too much unless you're extremely desperate to see at least a few of these classic toons .
It's very cheap on Amazon France

There are three reviews on Amazon.fr. This is the google translation:

5.0 out of 5 stars gags are very funny 23 March 2014

Very funny gags +
+ many episodes
+ the French version of these 70 years.
- the series has not been fully lined at the time, half the episodes are subtitled in vo.

Yes I am
I do not

4.0 out of 5 stars What happiness March 20, 2014

I waited a long time republication of these cartoons. Simplicity and humor in honor of these two giants of the 7th art: Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Finally, the integral of this excellent adaptation of the adventures of the Big and Little in cartoons.
Fully respectful of films from our two heroes, both in facial expressions or the gags, it's even more fun to the limit.
Only weak point: the quality of the master is not to go, it seems original.

A comment on the last review is a question asking how to turn the English on, so it may be a problem to figure out what works.

I have a UK DVD release with only a handful of them on one disc. I haven't seen it in some time but the video was ok. The show not the best in the world but it has nostalgia value. I would have purchased this set had it all been in English. I have a French Betty Boop boxset where you can turn the subtitles off but they turn back on when the next short starts. It may be like that.

Do you have a link for that item . I've not seen a proper UK dvd release listed . Thanks ( found several VHS releases though)

Shame this is in region 2 (PAL). Wish this was released in region 1 in the US, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

This sort of content is often not region coded so you could go for it .
Of course if coding is an issue ( or even PAL) both can be got round by using the computer for playback . If PAL playback is not an issue you can remove the region code if there is one by making a copy
