I was at THE REEL THING event in LA this weekend where some before and after restoration comparisons were shown of a new 4K MY FAIR LADY - and it all looked and sounded glorious. :) They presenter said that CBS was not quite ready to announce anything related to the title yet (theatrical bookings, Blu-ray, etc.), but I thought you guys might want to know that it is definitely coming. :)

Interesting. The Reel Thing is an event that has a couple of decades behind it. It is an insular meeting ground for those in the archival world to discuss projects, technologies and problems, in many cases regarding projects neither ready for prime time, nor for announcement to the public. I was unable to attend, but hope to see and hear some of the projects discussed later this year in Savannah.Generally Reel Thing discussions are not taken to the web.RAH

Assuming that it's true and we get a Blu Ray presentation worthy of it then this is absolutely fantastic news - my favorite musical !

Great news! I just hope its not some kind of 35mm transfer. 65mm elements please in correct Super Panavision 70 aspect ratio.

It's even posted on their website, Robert. If it is available publicly on their website WHICH ANYONE CAN ACCESS, I hardly think I can be accused of doing untoward by posting about it here to let other fans know.

They used original negative and digitally recombined separations to replace dupe sections that were left as dupes in the last restoration (first shot of Hepburn appearing in ball gown at top of stairs being the before/after example that was shown). It all looked and really sounded marvelous! I hope everything goes well on the authoring side to Blu-ray.

I'm not sure why these things are supposed to be deep dark secrets. Is it so they can sell some more of the inferior blu-rays before they announce this one? Anyway, glad to hear it is being done if only so future generations don't think the film always looked the way it does on the Blu-ray. It makes me happy, although this time I will wait for a review before pre-ordering like I did last time.
