$39.96 each? A little bit of a price increase compared to the other Cinerama titles.

33 % in not a little bit of an increase- it's massive!

so pondering the question, since the delay on the Chaplin Sennet sets, received an e-mail for 10% off of future order, wonder it that will apply to pre-orders as well?

I used that 10% off for the Chaplin/Sennett delay, too.

I suspect the second wave of Cinerama titles didn't sell as well as the first wave, hence the MSRP increase.

There are a lot newly produced extras on these two releases which may also have caused the increase.

We have no way of knowing that Brandon, but while we're speculating here, I strongly doubt it. Doesn't it stand to reason that the CINERAMA fans who would want any of these films, would want all of them?

More likely is that simply via attrition the overall fanbase for vintage CINERAMA is now so niche-within-niche-within-niche, and the restoration/remastering challenge$ have become so expen$ive, that it's all about the numbers. Whether specifically branded as a 'limited' collector's edition series, effectively that's what it is, and I've been treating it as such via my own earlybird pre-purchases.

There's a part of me that wonders if once the travelogues have all been released on BD, Flicker Alley might put together a box set, or a discount package for buying them all at once. Wishful thinking on my part. I noticed that the first 2 releases (This is Cinerama and Windjammer) are listed at $34.95; only Cinerama Holiday and South Seas Adventure list at $29.95.

Well, while the Cinerama fans like you and I want all of them, I would think that This Is Cinerama also sold more to more casually interested consumers who aren't of the "gotta get 'em all" collector mentality, with perhaps Windjammer picking up day and date sales from that crowd as well. Therefore, my guess that those two sold better than the following two from last year. But, this is completely arbirtrary guesswork on my part. I could be completely incorrect.

One can probably expect more Cinerama titles next year no doubt?.RUSSIAN ADVENTURE;THE GOLDEN HEAD (aka as MILLIE GOES TO BUDAPEST) and SCENT OF MYSTERY (aka as HOLIDAY IN SPAIN.) The last two were tedious flops when originally released. Personally I would like to see an English language version of the German 70mm film THE FLYING CLIPPER (aka as MEDITERRANEAN HOLIDAY) which was restored and had limited screenings in Europe. The complete German version can be seen on you tube.

I am waiting to see what they come up with next as well, but personally I would love to see WB get around to releasing The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm the way it was meant to be seen!

Not long now before the release date for these. i have all the other Cinerama Blu-ray titles and would like to get these but they are too damned expensive!; especially when factoring in air mail to the UK and possible customs charges. I think I'm going to have to wait and hope they come down in price.

Rant over (must stop drinking lunchtimes).

I would love to add them to my collection too (I don't have all of the Cinerama titles but most of them I do), but I can't justify spending $40.00 a movie plus shipping.

We are now finishing up 1961's Best Of Cinerama. Entire film is narrated by Lowell Thomas.
Merian C. Cooper produced it.
Terrific news, thanks.

I have never seen this in compilation. Most of the theaters I had access to were busy with HTWWW. So this will be very welcome.

Looks like all the Cinerama films are being released except The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm. Is there any chance for it at all? This movie has been known to defy expectations. For many years it was said that no 3-strip prints existed, then a beautiful one turned up in Australia. I hope it beats the odds again and gets an eventual Blu-ray release.
