Hello.

I have a major problem with my sound system.

My setup now is:

Projector -> hdmi out AVR
PC->hdmi in AVR
Soundbar -> optical out AVR

Projector : optoma hd67
AVR: Yamaha HTR-3067
Soundbar:Philips HTL2101A

I cant get sound from the soundbar what so ever. It does work tho, I tried connect it to a television and it provides the sound as it should. But I want to connect it through the avr.
In the sound settings, the NVIDIA HDMI output is selected and the bars do turn green when some kind of sound is playing from the computer. It is also set up as standard device ofcourse.
I got new drivers for nvidia.

In the internal audio settings the hdmi output is also set as standard.
In nvidia settings -> manage digital audio -> optoma hd67 is selected.

I have tried 2 different computers and still no luck.

Im not really sure how to set up the settings in the receiver but I have tried almost everything in terms of audio settings and speaker settings and HDMI settings aswell.

Also, it do work if I plug 2 rca contacts from soundbar directly to the headphone output, without the avr connected to it.

The problem is therefore the avr ive figured. I was wondering about the ohms, I know that the receiver needs to be in the same ohm-range as the soundbar? Something like that but I have no idea how to check if its ok or if that would be the problem.

Everything u can come up with would be great.

Cheers

Edit: After some googleing ive figured that the soundbars impedans is 4 ohms and the avr:s ohm is 6.
Is that the problem?
----It should not be a problem after some googleing.... :(

THanks

Edit: Ive noticed that I got a DC-out 0.5-5v on my receiver, right next to the hdmi-inputs. I also got a hdmi-input on the soundbar, maybe I should try to connect a usb-cable in bwetween?
But it (soundbar) already is powered and the signal is connected so it is even neccesary?

I have thoughts about active/passive, this seem to be an active soundbar.
I guess thats the problem? Or is it possible to connect an active soundbar to a receiver?

thnx

I'm not getting the AVR and active soundbar trend...the active soundbar is there so you don't have to have an AVR.
