I have a set top box and a samsung bluray player (BD5400) going into a YAmaha V377 receiver through HDMI(s) and one HDMI out to my TV. I would like the audio to be decoded by the Yamaha receiver as it has the latest decoders. My question is what settings should I choose on the set top box (it has PCM and AOC) and my Bluray player (it has PCM, PCM Multi ch, DTS and Dolby)

Will appreciate any help
Steve

Sorry My mistake

The set top has PCM and AC3

Blueray player 1 has

PCM,
Bitstream (Unprocessed),
Bitstream (Re-Encoded DTS) and
Bitstream (Re-Encoded Dolby D)

Bluray player 2 has

PCM Stereo
PCM Multichannel
DTS Re-Encoded
Primary Passthru

Which options I should pick to allow my Receiver do the encoding??

thanks

I've been looking at region free BD. The 300, 330 and 530 are my finalists.Their audio "set ups" make no sense to me either. Have no idea what Re-encoder means (to boot...the 530 only does it for DTS...???)

Now I get re-encode...Meant to "approximate" lossless audio into toslink/coax.Primary passthrough sounds like bitstream.(and it is, reading LG support)
