Need some advice on Canadian available:

11.2 being installed (not Atmos)
up to 24 foot runs

In a 19' 6"W X 24' L X 10' 31/2" H HT room

1) in-wall wiring (12/14 AWG) meeting fire code for:

2) receptacles for (RCA/Philips) jacks for
4 effect speakers up high
Back L&R speakers
Side surround speakers

3) On floor electrical outlets (110V)

Thanks in advance

If you are going with a huge amp the 12 gauge would be OK, for the short runs you listed you should be fine with 14 gauge. Here in the US wire that is certified for in wall use is CL rated, not sure what the certification is called in Canada. For what its worth since the walls are open and you are running wire I would run for Atmos. It could be a simple as running a second set of wire to your Left/Right and your back surrounds.

As to the electrical, I would just get the nice brass floor boxes. I opted for several one outlet versions. I also put in a riser for a second row, and put some outlet boxes on the front of that too (cheaper than the recessed ones). Here are the small floor boxes I used. You can get two outlet versions too:

As to terminating the speaker wire, don't buy speaker wire plates. They are expensive and are another point of failure (wire can come loose). Instead just pull more than enough wire through the wall to go all the way up to the binding posts on the speaker and receiver. You can get some trim plates with holes for the wire to pass through if you want to give it the trimmed out look. Make sure the wire is long enough that you can pull out or spin around your receiver with the wire still attached. Its soooo much easier than having to do everything by feel!

Good luck with your project and keep us posted!

Thank you very much for the time to respond.
I do appreciate it very much.
I am now researching for places in Canada to get these from (will do US if no other choice)
[Driving 11 Focal floor-standing & on-wall speakers, with a Yam RX-Z11, with 2 Servo 15 powered subs]
The audio equipment will have 2 feet to walk behind in the bay window alcove.
Will use 12ga for sides & backs (14ga for the 4 effect/presence speakers)
Plan on running a few in-wall wires chases for in-ceiling Atmos locations (meeting code) - from basement to attic,
for future Atmos in-ceiling placements &/or ceiling projector, as well as required in-wall wood backing/supports.
Required as ceiling will have code requiring R50 (~18" of blown-in Roxul )
Future Atmos floor standing speaker positions can be done by fishing down through the HT floor to an open-ceiling, open-web-joisted (24' X 40' X 8') basement.
