Thundbean Animation Presents: Technicolor Dreams and Black & White Nightmares
Amazon link
Animation wizard Steve Stanchfield has done it again. If you loved his Gulliver's Travels, you'll go ga-ga over this one even more. I've seen the transfers and he has once again gone above and beyond making forgotten classic animation accessible in immaculate quality. Steve's filling in the cracks of the medium's origins that most have left unfilled for too long.
You can read more about the release in Steve's post at Cartoon Research.
The contents are as follows:
Dolly Doings-A Motoy cartoons 1917
The Wrong Track- Jerry on the Job
Alice Rattled by Rats!- Disney
Playing with Fire- Mutt and Jeff
Goldilocks and the Three Bears- produced for Kodak’s Cinegraph series
Mendelssohn’s Spring Song- Cy Young
The Bandmaster- Oswald
The Snowman- Ted Eshbaugh
A Swiss Trick- Tom and Jerry
The Wizard of Oz- Ted Eshbaugh
Tea Pot Town- Ted Eshbaugh
The Magic Mummy- Tom and Jerry
To Spring- MGM Harman/Ising
The Enchanted Square- Famous Studios
Bonus: Bosko the Talk Ink Kid
Keep in mind, too, that Steve is an army of one and there may be a delay in the shipping (he has to take care of the pre-orders first). But like Gulliver, or any of his releases, it's worth the wait.
