There is a featurette up in the trailers section of iTunes, you can tell that it is actually a musical.  From what I could tell from a clip, Meryl Streep's singing was much improved from Mamma Mia.

There is a featurette up in the trailers section of iTunes, you can tell that it is actually a musical.  From what I could tell from a clip, Meryl Streep's singing was much improved from Mamma Mia.

 

 

Just watched the 'A Look Inside' trailer.  Yep, definitely a musical!  And what little bit of Meryl Streep's singing I heard sounded pretty darn good to me!

To be honest, I thought they were YA novel covers at first...

Hopefully she does a better job than Vanessa Williams did in the 2002 Broadway revival. Williams is a talented singer, but the role of the Witch wasn't in her range, and when they transposed the music for her the musical suffered for it.
