I have been an off-again, on-again member of Classicflix online rentals for four years. I live in Maine, so the turnover time for any given rental is a week. I have always signed up for 3 out at a time, which now costs about $32.00 per month after tax. Years ago, I would get between 12-15 movies per month.

Right now, with a full 28 movies in my queue (all but 6 of them currently in release), my "current rentals" box IS EMPTY!!! That's right -- they received my last batch of returns and haven't sent me ONE SINGLE MOVIE for 5 days (and about a third of the titles in my queue are DVD's!) Last month I received only 6 movies for my money (I view and return all movies within 2 days) which is over $5.00 each! This month, I will almost certainly have fewer. I have made myself known to the people who own and operate this site and I suspect they are just fed up with me. I am beginning to think they are withholding titles I have had in my queue for even as long as a year, simply because I am a thorn in their side.

Of course I know I can simply stop subscribing. But they do have a corner on the rentals of classic Blu-ray titles I would like to rent and evaluate before purchasing, as Netflix carries very few of the titles I am interested in on Blu. So, yes, I have a choice. But what I think is happening here is that they are stocking only one single copy of most of this stuff, whereas before they might have had multiple copies. How else to explain this recent dearth of movies being sent out to me? My viewing habits are the same as they ever were.

Were I living in California, this would not be an issue. But I'm 3,000 miles away, and trying to actually rent the movies I want from this company is becoming increasingly frustrating. I have always tried to support small businesses, and this one is run by a tiny staff who apparently do everything, which I admire. But loyal customers should be rewarded rather than screwed.

Anyone else in the same boat?
