Home Theater Forum attended the Shout! Factory panel at Comic-Con last night. Full video is below and is an interesting watch as they discuss the process that goes into selecting content for release, bonus content their favorite releases and more. They also announced the following upcoming titles (actual dates pending):

Shout Kids:
Equestrian Girls 2: Rainbow Rocks + more

Shout Factory:
UHF (yes!)
MST3K Turkey Day (Jungle Goddess, Painted Hills, Screaming Skull (+ short), and Squirm)
Super Sentai Z Ranger (Think I got the name right, Japanese series which Power Rangers was based on)
Facts of Life (Complete Series)

Scream Factory (November 2014-TBD):
George Romero's The Dark Half
George Romero's Monkey Shines
Candyman 2: Farewell to Flesh
Scare Crows (1988)
Phantom of the Opera (1988 Robert Englund)
New Year's Evil
Invaders From Mars
Dolls (Collectors Edition, November release)
Mad Max (Collectors Edition)
Escape From New York (Collectors Edition) They will try to include original prologue (need to do more research) and original extras from DVD release.

Mad Max and Escape From New York sound interesting. I'll wait to confirm what they've done, but this could give me an opportunity to pick them up.

I believe you mean The Facts of Life, not Family Ties, is due out in complete series format.

And finally... Lassie's MST3K episode is coming.

I wonder if the MST3K volume is called Turkey Day, or if thst's just a hint at the release date? If that is what it's called, I wonder if they're doing more named collections now. because the volume numbering getting prohibitively high.

Thank you, correction made (not enough sleep) I don't really follow MST3K, but they were very specific in calling it Turkey Day on several occasions. I'm not sure if they were all from Thanksgiving episodes or what (?) but that's what they called it several times. They never called it by a volume number. They did list the movies/episodes it would contain (noted above).

Was anything mentioned about the ITV catalog titles, i.e. Capricorn One, The Boys from Brazil, etc?
I'm wondering that myself. I asked on Facebook a couple weeks ago if they had any news and their answer was "Not at this time."

I am also interested to see what they will do as I have both on Blu-ray already. They are still working on seeing what they can do (in terms of extras) for both titles. I also think its interesting that it appears these will be released under the Scream Factory label as they don't really seem to fit the mold for typical Scream Factory titles. I would think they would be Shout Factory.

Back when MST3K was on Comedy Central, they'd play a marathon of episodes on Thanksgiving and call it the "Turkey Day Marathon" (turkey is a bad movie and turkey is what people eat on Thanksgiving).

My guess is that they're calling this set that simply because it'll come out the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Although Robert makes a good point about them possibly making a switch to names since the volume numbers are getting pretty high.

Maybe someone can verify if those episodes were ones shown over Thanksgivings?
Good guess but The Screaming Skull and Squirm are from when the show was on the Sci-Fi Channel so they wouldn't have been part of a Turkey Day marathon. And looking at this awesomely nuts list of all (including the reruns) the times that MST episodes ran on TV ( http://www.mst3kinfo.com/sched/index.html ), the two earlier episodes didn't run on a Turkey Day either.

The other possibility is that they may be including some of the Turkey Day segments as bonus features.

Oh, and MST3K isn't all I'm glad to see. We're finally getting the complete Facts of Life after the series has stalled out twice, and UHF on blu... I'm as happy about that as if I got to drink from the firehose.

/it's just too bad the deleted scenes only exist on VHS, because I would have loved to see a super extended cut of the movie.

ITV announcements will be coming over the next few months. Its too early in the process for them to say anything so they aren't....yet

Some additional clarification, Mad Max & Escape from new York might end up being Shout not Scream titles. Since they were already released on Blu they are still brainstorming on ways to make them attractive enough for HTFers to re-purchase.MST3K will probably be number 31 as well as being labeled Turkey Day. Should know for sure tonight.

Escape From New York needs to be a brand new HD transfer the existing Region B Bluray is terrible it looks like an upscaled 1080i HD master done in the mid 2000's as it probably is one!

Pointless releasing this unless they do a new 2014 HD transfer then it will sell otherwise what can they add that the countless region B Blurays do not already offer?

Dean Cundey supervised 2014 HD transfer makes it a blind buy regardless of extras (Dean supervised Halloween 3 & The Fog HD transfers & may have done Halloween 2 via Scream factory as well).

I believe at least those region B releases include pretty weak transfer (some people even say that it's just upscaled SD, dunno), but is the US BD from the same master?

The existing Region A Escape From New York looks very good for what it is - a lowish-budget film from the early-80s, shot in anamorphic 'scope with a lot of night footage.

I think the US bd of EfNY actually looks very good -- it's just very... dark.
