Looking through IMDB recently, I saw that James Garner is credited as appearing on a Cheyenne episode as Bret Maverick??

Stupidly, I didn't write down the episode title but was wondering if anyone can confirm this info for me?

And were there any appearances by brother Bart??

Just curious. Thanks

Jack Kelly never appeared on CHEYENNE. In 1955, Kelly's short-run series KING'S ROW was one of the series that alternated with Cheyenne on WARNER BROTHERS PRESENTS.James Garner appeared in four Cheyenne episodes, but never as Bret Maverick. The "Bret" character in the season one episode, "The Last Train West", was a minister.

I believe what imdb is referring to are some very quick cameos that the Warner shows were famous for. Both Mavericks had a cameo on Sugarfoot and I thought they did on Cheyenne as well but I might be confusing the cameos with Sugarfoot. By Cameos we are talking about 10-15 seconds. But they are fun and one of the interesting things about the Warner Shows. There is one Cheyenne episode that features Sugarfoot and Bronco as the main guest stars. A Sugarfoot episode features the star of Colt .45. I'm only on Season 3 of Maverick but I believe there is a Maverick episode that has most of the Warner westerns stars in it.

I'd love to know what the title of that episode is so I can record it the next time Encore Western runs it.

That happens in S4. Not only all the western stars but even Edd Byrnes from 77 Sunset Strip in an obvious wink to his role there.

"Hadley's Hunters" is the Maverick episode. "Duel At Judas Basin" is the Cheyenne episode with Bronco and Sugarfoot also.

What a shame you didn't write it down, because all that IMBD information is completely lost. Oh wait, looky it's still there!

Cheyenne (TV Series)
Willis Peake / Bret / Lt. Lee Rogers / ...
- War Party (1957) ... Willis Peake
- The Last Train West (1956) ... Bret
- Decision (1956) ... Lt. Lee Rogers
- Mountain Fortress (1955) ... Lt. Brad Forsythe

The Last Train West (season 1 episode 15) aired May 29, 1956 which was more that a year before Garner first played Maverick on TV.

As Bob Gu said... same first name but it's a different character.
