A huge trend for a couple years now has been graphically upgraded games from years ago to current HD standards. Silent Hill collection, Metal Gear, Shadow Of The Colossus/ICO, The Legend Of Zelda Wind Waker just to name a handful. And also the HD stuff like the new Tomb Raider, The Last Of Us, Grand Theft Auto 5(pretty much the games that missed the next gen window by a about a year, or less).

So have you been happy with the redo versions( I have to admit I like them, but they are on my back burner currently) and what would you like to see done in the future?

Personally I would like to see some Castlevania games 1-3(8 bit), 4, Dracula X, Bloodlines(16 bit) on one disc all redone in beautiful HD.
that would be a one heck of a seller.
And while I'm dreaming: King's Field 1, 2, and the Ancient City. Graphically upgraded, enhanced 5.1 true HD sound. And of the two properties I mentioned the option to play the originals as well.

My limited experience is a simple graphical upgrade to older games can be insufficient. Recently I bought the HD update of "Beyond Good and Evil". That was a fantastic game on the GameCube, and a favorite gaming experience. But a decade later, its '00s gameplay limitations are apparent and detrimental. I re-played for a bit, but lost interest pretty soon.

Counter to that are the games intentionally made in retro style. I'm not sure if it's for nostalgia or to save development costs. ShovelKnight is the latest one I've heard about that supposed to be brilliant.

I'd be curious to try a Half Life graphic update (and I've heard there's already one). It is probably modern enough to still be a solid re-play. But, I'd rather have HL3 (or HL2:E3)

An older game I keep wishing for a re-make is Wetrix. It was a hoot. It tasked the N64, but would be smooth on today's mobile hardware. And as an action-puzzler, I'd think it would fit perfectly in the current mobile market, along with consoles. Besides, it's got rubber duckies! What game isn't made more awesome by yellow ducks?

IMO the N64 version of Super Smash Bros. probably still has the best *gameplay* of any title of its type. More recent games tend to be too fast and chaotic.

The Lovecraftian GameCube classic Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem would be very cool in HD.
