I was wondering if anyone knows of any plans for further seasons of I LOVE LUCY being released on Blu-ray. I haven't seen any news about this since the release of the Season One BD set.

Nothing but a guess but I would think that the most frequent that they'd release them is about every 6 months so I wouldn't expect a second season of ILL or The Andy Griffith Show until November. They could even wait until the beginning of the new year to avoid competing with all the other big ticket sets (Batman, The Wonder Years, The Sopranos) at the end of this year.

I hope they do keep going. Just picked up ILL on blu yesterday and would love more seasons, just for the sheer amount of extras and alternative versions of the episodes. Really great stuff.

I am waiting for a "complete set" before I buy "I Love Lucy". Love the show.....have the complete series on DVD.....but I hate doing the season by season thing.....for t.v. shows on Blu-Ray has to be complete series (for me) going forward. Plus, right now, with "Batman", "The Sopranos" and "The Honeymooners" all "complete" on Blu-Ray......I am going to be broke!!! LOL :)

I bought mine and I'm in for the whole thing, but as Lucy said before she went to the hospital, "This is it."

I agree on the last part of your statement as I've been spotting original footage on four of those 13 episodes on YouTube and why they (CBS/Paramount) didn't come to bother to include the entire uncut versions of these shows is quite mystifying, to say the least.
Especially the first one and the part about Tallulah Bankhead being allergic to strawberries; there's a whole joke based around that fact, and without it being mentioned, it makes no sense.

Given the extensive work they did on the 16mm elements for the blu-rays, and the fact that they considered the Comedy Hours part of ILL when releasing the dvds, I have a hunch they will. My main worry is will we get that far in the releases. I think a lot of people passed on this release due to the price.

I saw the price a little lower at Amazon, around $56, the best I've seen so far. I wonder if they will get very far with Lucy or Andy if they don't get more real about the price. I'm not willing to pay this amount for one or two seasons and then have CBS/P abandon the titles.

I imagine Paramount would be observing sales of the first season very closely before announcing any further sets.
Yes, and the people saying they will wait for a complete series set, will insure no further seasons will be released due to poor sales.
