Hi guys I have a pioneer vsx-51 elite and when I lived with my parents my subwoofer worked just fine at the house but now I'm married and have moved it won't play at my new place. I run through the audio tests and setups and it plays just fine but once I play music or a movie or a game it does nothing. I also run it with LFE. Please any and all ideas welcome

First things to check are:

Is the subwoofer working? Always set the ON/OFF switch on the sub to the OFF position before plugging/un-pluging it in. I've ruined to subs by not following my own advice.

Is it connected properly? We all make silly mistakes.

Check that speakers are all set to "Small:" in the setup menu. MCACC should have at least set the center and surrounds to Small but it doesn't hurt to double-check.

And that you haven't selected Pure Audio as the surround mode. Use the AUTO/ALC/DIRECT button on the remote to cycle through the options.

Hit the Home Menu button

Select #4, Manual Speaker setup

Select #4a, Speaker Setting

Then change each speaker group to Small.

At the bottom is where you select the appropriate X-Over setting.

Somethings amiss.I can't duplicate any senario where my Pioneer receiver wii not allow me to change the speakers from Large to Small. Even when the subwoofer is set to None (changing the speakers to Small automatically sets the subwoofer to Yes). Can you try and explain how/why it won't allow you to change the speaker size?
