I can get Christine! Nice!

You can get it now....released in Europe by Sony (same transfer as TT) in earlier this month. The Spanish edition is region-free....

Now you listen to me, I'm an advertising man, not a red herring. I've got a job, a secretary, a mother, two ex-wives and several bartenders that depend upon me, and I don't intend to disappoint them all by getting myself "slightly" killed.  Roger Thornhill (Cary Grant), Hitchcock's North By Northwest (1959)

My modest setup: TV- Panny TC-P46ST30; HT- Panny SC-BTT370 Blu-ray Home Theater System; Satellite: Directv HR24 HD-DVR; Gaming: Sony PS3

That's good news! But when are the TTs comming out? Not for a while?

I will probably get CHRISTINE region free, though.

My understanding is they can't re-release until the original 3-year license runs out. For Christine, it was released in March of 2013, so that would mean March of 2016 would be the earliest it could be re-released by TT (assuming the 3-year clock starts ticking on original street date).

JTCOTE came out in May of 2012, so we could see a re-release next year.

The other sold-out titles with possible re-release dates are:

The Egyptian, released July 2012, possible re-release July 2015

Mysterious Island, Nov 2011, so it is eligible for re-release now

Fright Night, released Dec 2011, eligible now

The Big Heat, May 2012, May 2015

Steel Magnolia, Sept 2012, Sept 2015

Night of the Living Dead, Oct 2012, Oct 2015

I think that covers everything that could be re-released now or next year. All other sold-out titles would be 2016 and beyond.

That makes no sense. Why wouldn't they just re-negotiate their current contracts to up the number? And why would the studios want to lock themselves out of another 3 years of either selling copies themselves or licensing it out to someone else?

See this interview with TT's Nick Redman....

http://www.hometheat...model-and-more/

"So they agreed that if the title sold out very early it would lie dormant for three years."

"In all honesty we cannot say that the studio will never reissue these titles in the future or that they won’t sublicense to another label down the line. What we can say is that won’t happen for a minimum of three years and likely longer, and even then it is very unlikely that the studio itself will do it. So only another sublicense is a possibility".

Looks like The Blob can officially be added to the OOP list.  Been sold out for about a week.
