The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer:All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from theirprinted Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by eachchain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the websiteprice.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week inthe RoundUp.The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well asthose which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers(and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don'tcomplain! If there is a title not includedin the RoundUp that youwant to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough topost and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp.They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, sothere is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR localWal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still outof business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their pricesanyway).

Thanks for the Roundup.

THE LUNCHBOX is a fantastic film and worth a rental for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. I'll wait for a price drop before adding it to my collection, but I just wanted to put that out there.

Although it's not new, I am in for the Planet of the Apes Legacy Collection at that price, and very excited too, since the only time i have ever seen the sequels before was on AMC in pan & scan about a decade or so ago. I remember paying $19.99 for the 35th Anniversary Edition DVD of the original by itself in 2003 and haven't upgraded since, so this will be a nice treat. How times have changed to allow all 5 for that price now.

On a related note, is Rise of the Planet of the Apes worth a blind buy? I didn't think the trailers looked all that hot back in 2011 so I skipped it, but what with all the good word-of-mouth I'm wondering if that was a mistake.

I admired the film enormously, and the Blu-ray is tops. Read what I had to say about it in my review which can be found here.

This is one of those very odd and infrequent weeks when I have been assigned absolutely nothing on the week's release list to review. There isn't much there that I'm truly interested in getting either other than Operation Petticoat somewhere down the line.

Thanks for the RoundUp, Mike!

I had a lot of fun with "Helix" when it aired on Syfy, but I don't need to own it. So nothing for me this weekend. Thanks as always, Mike!

It's a dead week but I'll still end up spending money on Cry Baby and The Final Terror.

Fortunately or unfortunately, I only have a handful of titles to pick up during that Criterion sale.

Thanks for the prices, Mike! :)

All three Olive Films for me.
I found DVD Planet to have the lowest prices, and if you pre-order today you can take an additional 10% off with the SUMMERSAVINGS promo code.

*Yawn*...At least B&N's 50% off Criterion sale begins Tuesday.
Eh, I was going to see the new Planet of the Apes anyway and I dont have the first one yet - so I might pick that up so I can get a free DVD (essentially) when I see the new one.

I'm a huge fan of the original series (save for the really shitty 2001 version with Marky Mark) and I loved the new one. It was respectful, it was reasonably well done, it had pretty solid effects - I dug it on pretty much all levels. I would say that you could probably get about 8 bucks worth of entertainment out of it, no problem.
