Screen size will no doubt be expanded at some earlier time?
Regular Sony CRT 28" placed directly below the stage is used and I appreciate the size of the projected image when I use the projector (rarely over the years).
Still got hours more to finish on the stage and refit a new baffle wall up in place and with any means of cheap absorbent materials at hand.
Projector is fitted behind the wall as to isolate fan noise and the little extra bit further back increases image size and looks cinema like.
I went for real cinema seats Irwin rockers that are nice and comfortable for a STAR TREK Marathon.
Laserdiscs are nicely up scaled by the Onkyo TX SR-875 where I'm nether pleased or displeased with it it works and I'm chuffed with it.
Mostly pro cinema gear integrated with consumer as I like the cinema processor touch when working as projectionist years ago, I often found the gear very pleasingly nice and always wanted to own it for myself.
Most of the AVR and processors are racked up next to my seat row A1. Row A2 is centre seat and row A3 right seat. Row B1 left back row, B2 centre B3 right.
Below matrix surround that I use on some program content seams to work nicely with the sound reflecting off the seat buckets spans outwards and with the other surrounds playing creates nice bubble of surround. Some sounds appear to sound below but its only an illusion, but better than what my friends have as they aren't really into home cinema.
GRAVITY in 1080i on the projector pleases me in 2d with 11 channels actively playing dialogue pans across stage channels and around the rooms surround speaker arrays with nice precision,
sub bass is amble enough and controlled aligned all channels on the Lucasfilm Ltd THX Sound System Crossover/monitor.
GRAVITY on the CRT 28" Sony is just as still pleasing its the sound in the room that fills the room up with chesty bass mid kick or slam and depth on the slower deeper notes.
Some off-cuts of MDF I have used for fitting inside the seat buckets with x6 Dayton Puck shakers that WOW my seals buzz vibrate and have startling kick that depends on the frequency. Seat back will have certain feel armrest and seat bucket or whole seat simmering shuddering. Great on re-entry in GRAVITY at some points feels like riding the escape capsule pod.
Rack has it was earlier in the year that has gone though a few small changes.
Occasionally I get a new Laserdisc in the post and this film is classic.
Watched on the CRT tv.
Bought a rare THX D1138 early in the year and wow it works.
Most of the other amps are housed in the kitchen, If you can't stand the Heat get out of the kitchen.
Cheap priced AVR can be effective for outboard amps by just using the internal setting 5.1 (6channels) or 7.1s (7channels) and other amps takes a bit setting up and all is working very well.
All most of the amps have return wires back to the THX sound system, so I can monitor and check for frequency/level/phase alignment.
STAR TREK II provides a slam kick jolt when kHAN attacks the Enterprise. Still one of the best Trek's.
My cat Sooty, gets his own front and centre seat as he has the best ears.
