Hmmmm. tvshowsondvd has a list price of $24.99 while Amazon has list price of $38.99 (marked down to $35.08). That price is a little too steep for me. I guess I was spoiled by the first 2 seasons.

Walmart is priced the same way as Amazon. However, DVDEmpire has a list price of $25 and a preorder price of $20, which is more in-line with the earlier seasons. If the $25 price is more correct, then it really makes no sense for Walmart and Amazon to be pricing it higher, especially with Amazon's price guarantee since it would seem it would go lower eventually and everyone would get the lower price anyway. And they would get many more preorders with a price between $17 and $20 like earlier seasons.

My guess is that this may have more to do with Walmart than anything else. For previous seasons Walmart had the lower price first and Amazon matched. I wouldn't be surprised if Walmart is in error (wouldn't be the first time) and Amazon is just matching it. As we get closer I would imagine the price will get adjusted. However, I have a preorder in with DVDEmpire just in case (easy to cancel later if needed). I'm not trusting Amazon as much these days to price match before release date as I did in the past.

I'm keeping an eye on the Amazon price, if it gets down around 20, or lower, I will preorder. If not, I'll wait. I believe sooner or later, Amazon will drop the price, just don't know if they will before release date.

I see Amazon.com also have pre-order price of $24.99 up now.
