I did. I've been having a slight numbness in my big toe for a few months and my primary care physician suspected diabetic neuropathy. I went to a podiatrist yesterday who said it isn't that but that my feet are deformed (something with the bones) causing me to land on my feet wrong and after all these years I've pinched a nerve.

He said he could do surgery to correct my feet and reroute the nerve but no guarantees it would relieve my numb toe.

Has anyone else had this kind of issue? If so, what did you do to alleviate it or do you just deal with it?

OK I have some suggestions. But I am not a doctor. So run this by your foot doctor.I have had trouble with my toes over the years and also had a slipped disc. With my slipped disc my back didn't actually hurt, but my toe, ankle, leg, and hip hurt. Predisone, pain killers, naproxen, and back exercises fixed me up and I don't take any medicine any more. So you may want to look into an oncoming back problem. Now for the toe, a simple possible help would be to just wrap the base of your toe with a strip of medical adhesive tape. This will support your toe and compress swelling which might ease any pain. If the tape makes your toe more numb don't do this.I been having bunion flare ups, and the bunion appliances for realigning the big toe might help gently push your toe bones back into place. Here are some that are sold at Amazon: Gel Bunion Toe Spreader, Comfy Toes Foot Alignment Sox, and the Foot Smart Bunion Regulater.

Not foot, but something similar with neck / hand. Haven't found a fix.

What Bob says are the things I've tried and are recommended. Anti-inflammatory drugs starting with NSAIDS and then going up to cortisone and predizone.

Physical therapy can be tried: basically stretching and exercising.

Don't apply heat. Every doctor currently recommends cold compresses only to reduce swelling / inflammation.

Good luck! This sort of thing is frustrating and scary. Hopefully you're just temporary and things go back to normal.
