Trailers for new NBC series:

A to Z: "How I Met Your Mother's" Cristin Milioti stars as Zelda, a love interest that's introduced at the start of the series rather than at the end. Andrew (Ben Feldman, "Mad Men") co-stars at the male lead. This half-hour comedy charts their relationship from first meeting to final breakup, and asks: is love chance or is love fate? Katey Sagal ("Married with Children", "Futurama", "Sons of Anarchy") narrates.

Constantine: Based on the wildly Vertigo comic series "Hellblazer," Matt Ryan ("Criminal Minds") stars as the chain-smoking blond British demon hunter John Constantine, who specializes in giving hell… hell. Armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and his wickedly naughty wit, Constantine comes out of retirement to team up with Liv (Lucy Griffiths, "True Blood"), the daughter of one of his oldest friends, to hunt the demons who are targeting her. Before long, it’s revealed that Liv’s “second sight” — an ability to see the worlds behind our world and predict supernatural occurrences — is a threat to a mysterious new evil that’s rising in the shadows. Together, Constantine and Liv must use her power and his skills to travel the country, find the demons that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows… maybe there’s hope for him and his soul after all. Writer Daniel Cerone ("The Mentalist," "Dexter") serves as executive producer alongside David S. Goyer ("Man of Steel," "DaVinci's Demons").

State of Affairs: Katherine Heigl ("Grey’s Anatomy") mounts a comeback attempt with this political drama where she star as a CIA anyalst assigned to assemble the President’s Daily Briefing (PDB). This list of the most vital security issues facing the nation brings with it moral and political judgment calls for Charleston and her trusted group of brilliant analysts at the agency. Meanwhile, her investigation into the murder of her fiance -- and the president's son -- will unearth a conspiracy that will shake her nation to its core. Writer-director Joe Carnahan (“The Blacklist”) serves as executive producer with Katherine Heigl and her mother.

Bad Judge: Kate Walsh, “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Private Practice”) stars as an out-of-control party animal who also happens to be one of Los Angeles's toughest and most respected criminal court judges. She has a reputation for unorthodox behavior in the courtroom, including creative rulings and saying exactly what’s on her mind. Her private life, on the other hand, is anything but innocent. While there’s no shortage of male admirers who would love to spend time with her, she’s not ready to settle down … except when an 8-year-old boy — whose parents were put in jail by Rebecca — needs her help. He may, in fact, be the one thing that starts to tame this “bad” judge. Writer Chad Kultgen (“The Incredible Burt Wonderstone”) serves as executive producer with Adam McKay (“Anchorman,” “Talladega Nights”) and Will Ferrell (“Step Brothers”).

Marry Me: Casey Wilson reunites with "Happy Endings" showrunner David Caspe for this show about the trials and tribulations of a couple that really wants to get married but can't seem to manage to get engaged. Ken Marino ("Party Down") co-stars as the would-be finance of Wilson's character. Seth Gordon (“The Goldbergs”) also executive produces.

The Mysteries of Laura: Debra Messing ("Will & Grace") stars as Laura Diamond, a brilliant NYPD homicide detective who balances her "Columbo" day job with a crazy family life that includes two unruly twin boys and a soon-to-be ex-husband (Josh Lucas) — also a cop — who just can’t seem to sign the divorce papers. Writers Jeff Rake ("Boston Legal") and Greg Berlanti ("Everwood", "Arrow") serve as executive producers alongside director McG ("Chuck", "Supernatural").

New NBC shows without trailers:
Mission Control: Houston, we have a problem! Dr. Mary Kendricks (Krysten Ritter, “Don’t Trust the B--- in Apartment 23”) is a tough but brilliant aerospace engineer, leading a team of NASA scientists at the cutting edge of space exploration. The only problem is, this is the 1960s and she’s a woman. Navigating the ridiculous boys’ club of astronauts and engineering nerds is no easy task, but she’s up to the challenge … until her boss brings on Tom (Tommy Dewey, “The Mindy Project”) — a former hotshot test pilot and overall man’s man — to co-manage her team. It doesn’t help that he initially mistakes her for a secretary. Between him, her astronaut boyfriend, Cash, and her offbeat all-guy team, Mary certainly has her hands full… but at the end of the day, they all want the same thing: to get a man on the moon. It might just take a woman to get him there. Writer David Hornsby ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") serves as executive producer with Adam McKay (“Anchorman,” “Talladega Nights”) and Will Ferrell (“Step Brothers”).

Mr. Robinson: As lead singer and keyboardist of a rock band, Craig (Craig Robinson, “The Office”) knows a thing or two about working the crowd, but his day job is where he really makes the grade. Every struggling artist knows the drill: you got to pay the bills while you wait for that big break. So when Craig finds himself short on cash, he takes a job as a substitute teacher. It’s an easy gig, right? Throw a DVD in the player, dim the lights and sleep off last night’s party. Yet when he realizes that the kids think his class is an easy A, Craig’s moved to inspire his students. Music is his passion and he’s not about to let anyone sleep though this period … period. The school principal (Jean Smart, “Samantha Who?”) is a woman who believes that rules were made to be strictly upheld. She’s none too fond of Craig’s unorthodox teaching style, or his crush on the pretty English teacher. If he wants to keep his gig, get the girl and teach these kids the joys of music, he’ll have to buckle down, shape up and rock out. Amandla Stenberg also stars. Writers Mark and Robb Cullen (“Back in the Game”) serve as executive producers.

One Big Happy: Best friends Lizzy (gay and a bit type-A) and Luke (straight and more laid back) are like family. When they were kids and both of their parents were getting divorces, Lizzy (Elisha Cuthbert, “Happy Endings”) and Luke (Nick Zano, “2 Broke Girls”) stuck together, and they’ve been there for each other ever since. Now, all grown up and still single, they’ve decided to start a family of their own. No, not like that (there are some lines even they won’t cross), we’re talking the non-romantic, go-to-the-doctor’s-office type of baby-making. Then one night, after yet another failed attempt at conception, the two head out to a bar to let off some steam. That’s where Luke meets Prudence (Kelly Brook, “Smallville”), a free-spirited British girl who’s slated to go back to England in a matter of days. Lizzy isn’t a huge fan — it might have something to do with Prudence waltzing around their apartment naked — but Luke really hits it off with her. Soon they’re spending every last minute of her limited time together. Then, just as Lizzy discovers that she’s actually pregnant, Luke announces that he and Prudence got married and a different kind of family is born. Writer Liz Feldman (“2 Broke Girls”) and director Scott Ellis (“2 Broke Girls”) serve as executive producers with Ellen DeGeneres (“The Ellen DeGeneres Show”).

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: "30 Rock" writers Tina Fey and Robert Carlock bring the story of the unbreakable and wide-eyed Kimmy (Ellie Kemper, “The Office”), who is rescued along with four other women after living in a cult for 15 years, causing a national sensation that culminates with an appearance on the ”Today” show. Before getting back on the bus to Indiana, however, Kimmy decides it’s time to reclaim her life. Armed with just a backpack, light-up sneakers, a couple way-past-due library books and a big wad of rescue-fund cash, she’s ready to take on New York City. It’s easily the best time of Kimmy’s life as she rides subways, plays with street performers, frees Central Park horses and makes a spontaneous decision to rent a room from Titus, a gay wannabe Broadway actor who makes a living dressing as a robot in Times Square. This unlikely pairing may not seem ideal, but it quickly becomes clear that they can really help each other out: Kimmy needs someone to reintroduce her to the modern world, and Titus could use someone to show him that you should never give up on life, no matter how many times you get rejected from performing in “The Lion King.” As long as they stick together… they might just make it after all. Hakuna matata!

A.D.: A sequel series to the History Channel's wildly successful mineries "The Bible" from producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey that follows the events that occur after the ressurection as Jesus's disciples spread His message.

Mark Burnett, Roma Downey and Richard Bedser serve as executive producers. Simon Block will write the script. “A.D.” is a production of LightWorkers Media.

Allegiance: Alex O’Connor (Gavin Stenhouse, “Person of Interest”), a young idealistic CIA analyst specializing in Russian affairs, learns a shocking secret and his close-knit, affluent family is about to be split apart when its revealed that his parents, Mark (Scott Cohen, “Necessary Roughness”) and Katya (Hope Davis, “The Newsroom,” “In Treatment”) are covert Russian spies deactivated decades ago. But today the Kremlin has re-enlisted them into service as they plan a terrorist operation inside the U.S. border that will bring America to its knees. "Homeland" meets "The Americans" in this series from writer-director George Nolfi (“The Adjustment Bureau”) and Avi Nir (“Homeland”).

Aquarius: It’s 1967 and the era of free love, drug experimentation and the Vietnam War is in full effect. When the teenage daughter of a respected lawyer goes missing, L.A. Police Sgt. Sam Hodiak (David Duchovny, “Californication,” “The X-Files”) starts asking around. He soon discovers that the hippie kids he’s questioning don’t take kindly to cops, especially one with hair as short as his. Needing the help of someone they will trust, he partners with rebellious undercover cop Brian Shafe, a man who’s more comfortable rolling a joint than patrolling a beat. It’s not long before they stumble upon a small-time cult leader seeking out vulnerable women to join his cause. From there, they follow this man’s trail down a rabbit hole of drugs, sex, murder and cultural revolution. Little could they know, however, the guy they’re hunting will eventually become the killer we now recognize as Charles Manson. He was a lost soul who desperately wanted to get into the music scene of the ’60s until something snapped. This is the show that will explore the cat and mouse game between him and the police that will go on for several seasons, ultimately ending with the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders. Writer John McNamara (“In Plain Sight”) serves as executive producer.

Emerald City: Desperate for clues that will lead to the identity of her biological mother, a young woman breaks into a sinister underground facility somewhere in the Midwest. Unable to complete her mission and surrounded by security, our feisty heroine steals a K9 police dog and drives away into the night… and headlong into the path of a raging tornado. In the blink of an eye, she is transported to another world, one far removed from our own — a mystical land of competing kingdoms, lethal warriors, dark magic and a bloody battle for supremacy. This is the fabled Land of Oz in a way you’ve never seen before, where wicked witches don’t stay dead for long and 20-year-old Dorothy Gale becomes a headstrong warrior who holds the fate of kingdoms in her hands. You’re not in Kansas anymore, and this is not your Grandmother’s Oz. Writer Matthew Arnold (“Siberia”) serves as executive producer with Josh Friedman (“Terminator” The Sarah Connor Chronicles”).

Heroes Reborn: The saga behind the 2006 breakout series “Heroes” will continue as creator Tim Kring returns to the fold and develops new layers to his original superhero concept. This highly anticipated 13-episode miniseries will reconnect with the basic elements of the show’s first season where ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities. This series will be preceded by a new digital series that will introduce audiences to the new characters and storylines that will take the “Heroes” phenomenon to new places.

Odyssey: In this “Traffic”-like action drama, an international conspiracy explodes when three strangers’ lives unexpectedly collide — a female soldier, a corporate lawyer and a political activist. After a team of American soldiers battles Jihadists in North Africa, they’re shocked to find that one of the men they killed is Al Qaeda’s top man. Sgt. Odelle Ballard (Anna Friel, “Pushing Daisies”) — a soldier, mother, wife and the unit’s only female member — discovers computer files that suggest a major U.S. corporation is funding the Jihadists. But before she can tell anyone, her team is attacked and left for dead. News is reported that the unit was wiped out, but the truth is that Odelle survived and is the only witness to her unit’s assassination by U.S. Special Forces. In New York, former U.S. Attorney Peter Decker (Peter Facinelli, “Nurse Jackie”) is working on a merger deal for the same company that was funneling money to the Jihadists. Meanwhile, Harrison Walters (Jake Robinson, “The Carrie Diaries”), a political activist and trust fund kid, meets a hacker who claims to have unearthed a massive military-industrial conspiracy. And he’s right: He’s stumbled onto the cover-up that began with Odelle and will soon be out in the open and everyone’s lives will be in danger. The only way they’ll ever save their country, their families and themselves is by joining forces and exposing the people behind it. The cast also includes Jim True-Frost, Treat Williams, Nate Mooney, Elena Kampouris, Daniella Pineda, Sadie Sink, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Omar Ghazaoui. Writers Adam Armus (“The Following”) and Nora Kay Foster (“Heroes”), and writer-director Peter Horton (“Grey’s Anatomy”) serve as executive producers.

Trailers for new FOX series:

Gotham: Ben McKenzie ("The O.C.", "Southland") stars as James Gordon, a rookie detective in the Gotham City police department. Two weeks into the job, Gordon and his partner Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue -- "Terriers", "Vikings") stumble upon the city's highest-profile case ever: the murder of local billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne. At the scene of the crime, Gordon meets the sole survivor: the Waynes' hauntingly intense 12-year-old son, Bruce (David Mazouz -- "Touch"), toward whom the young detective feels an inexplicable kinship. As Gordon and Bullock hunt for the Waynes' killer, they navigates the often-underhanded politics of Gotham's criminal justice system and the city's seedy and colorful underbelly. Among the rogues they encounter along the way: the agile and catlike teenaged thief Selina Kyle/the future CATWOMAN, played by acting newcomer Camren Bicondova; criminal henchman Oswald Cobblepot, played by Robin Lord Taylor (Accepted, "The Walking Dead"); clever and cryptic Edward Nygma, played by Cory Michael Smith (Breakfast at Tiffany's on Broadway, "Olive Kitteridge"); and green-thumbed little Ivy, played by Clare Foley (Sinister, "Do No Harm"). The cast also includes Zabryna Guevara ("Burn Notice") as Gotham police captain Sarah Essen, Sean Pertwee ("Camelot," "Elementary") as Bruce Wayne's butler and legal guardian Alfred Pennyworth, Jada Pinkett Smith as crime boss Fish Mooney, and Erin Richards as Gordon's fiance Barbara Kean. Executive producer Bruno Heller ("The Mentalist") wrote the pilot, which was directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the "CSI" franchise, "Nikita"). A Warner Bros. Television production.

Wayward Pines: Writer/director M. Night Shyamalan brings his homage to "Twin Peaks" to television with this dark 10-episode journey into a mysterious town in the Pacific Northwest where nothing is as it seems and something is very, very wrong. Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke (Academy Award nominee Matt Dillon, "Crash," "City of Ghosts") drives to the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, Idaho, searching for two missing federal agents and finds himself trapped there after a brutal and mysterious car crash. Ethan forms a bond with Beverly (Academy Award and Emmy Award nominee Juliette Lewis, "Hysterical Blindness," "Cape Fear"), the only resident who seems as wary of Wayward Pines as he is, and butts heads with local sheriff Arnold Pope (Academy Award nominee Terrence Howard, "Crash," "Hustle & Flow"). Toby Jones (Emmy Award nominee Toby Jones, "The Girl," Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) and Carla Gugino ("Karen Sisco", Watchmen) also star. Chad Hodge ("The Playboy Club," "Runaway") will serve as showrunner.

Red Band Society: Academy Award Winner Octavia Spencer headlines this provocative, unconventional and, at times, comic drama centered around the teenage patients of the pediatric long-term care ward at a Los Angeles hospital. Twelve-year-old Charlie (Griffin Gluck, “Back in the Game,” “Private Practice”) narrates the series from a coma. His fellow patients include 16-year-old illegal immigrant Jordi (Nolan Sotillo, “Prom”), angry and resentful cancer patient Leo (Charlie Rowe, “Neverland,” “Pirate Radio”) and 15-year-old anorexic Emma (Ciara Bravo, "Big Time Rush"). New patient Kara (Zoe Levin, “Arrested Development”) arrives at the hospital only to learn that her wild past might keep her from getting the heart transplant she desperately needs. Under the watchful eye of Nurse Jackson (Spencer) and the expert care of Dr. McAndrew (Dave Annable, “Brothers & Sisters”), these kids confront questions of life and death which no one at that age should have to face as a kinship based on these shared experiences is created – a bond represented by the red hospital bands issued to them upon admittance. This is the story of the RED BAND SOCIETY. Margaret Nagle (“Boardwalk Empire”) is the showrunner. Steven Spielberg produces along with Darryl Frank (“The Americans”) and Sergio Aguero (“Y Tu Mama Tambien”).

The Last Man on Earth: Will Forte (“Nebraska,” “Saturday Night Live”) writes, produces and starts in this single-camera comedy about the life and adventures of the last man on earth. The year is 2022, and after an unlikely event, Phil Miller is the only person left alive. Now, in his RV, Phil searches the country for other survivors. He has traveled to every city, every town and every outpost in the United States, Mexico and Canada, and has found no one, which leads him to the painful realization that he is almost certainly the last living being on the face of the earth. Sure, there are some positives that come with being the last person on earth. You can go live in the White House if you want. You can park in handicapped spots without an ounce of guilt. You can decorate your home with priceless works of art. You wanna wear a pair of tighty-whiteys and nothing else every single day of the year? Not a problem. A comedy about a man trying to make lemonade out of the most soul-crushing lemon there is. Phil Lord & Chris Miller ("Clone High", The Lego Movie) also produce.

Wow, this is the least I've watched network TV since I was in college.

Sunday: The Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Tuesday: New Girl, Supernatural, Person Of Interest

Parks And Recreation and the original CSI are on the bench in the fall but I'll watch them when they come back. Obviously, if a new series catches my eye, I'll check it out but I'm real glad for cable (Boardwalk Empire, Sons Of Anarchy and South Park should all start up in September).

CSI is not on the bench. It will start the season, and then CSI: Cyber will take over during hiatus periods. At least, that's the way I understood it to be.

I took a look and the original series is on in the fall and Cyber starts in January. So they'll run the original probably until the Christmas break, run the 12 or 13 Cyber episodes and then go back to the original series for the rest of the season. I don't have any interest in Cyber but giving the original's time slot to the new series seems like a great way to get the new show viewers and keep the audience's interest by always having something new on each week instead of having reruns.

I am finding myself watching less of network TV these days. My network schedule is...

Sunday - The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, Family Guy

Wednesday - Nashville

Friday - The Amazing Race, Grimm

I may check out NCIS: New Orleans, the only new one that I am remotely curious about.
