80s is my favourite decade in film, since I was born in 1980 and grew up through this decade.
Many favourite films of mine have been released already, but there are many not released yet (and I haven't heard anything either).

So, what are your top 10 favourite 80s films that you yet expect to be in Bluray?

My list (in chronological order):

Krull (1983)
Spacehunter: Adventures in the forbidden zone (1983)
Supergirl (1984)
The Philadelphia Experiment (1984)
Explorers (1985)
Return to oz (1985)
Spacecamp (1986)
Maurice (1987)
Abyss (1989)
Always (1989)

(as you see sci-fi is my favourite genre in 80s films)

My most wanted of all is:

Thanks for the update. I usually consider these questions from the perspective of a Region 1 release.

BTW, I should have put Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins somewhere in my list. Hopefully with the theatrical aspect ratio, not the 1.33:1 AR on the DVD release.

I'm convinced it's 80's soundtrack/music rights (Culture Club, Human League?) holding Electric Dreams off of DVD in the US, never mind Blu-ray:

Neverending Story, Metropolis...Giorgio Moroder was on a roll in '84. :)

Mike's Murder

The Believers

I would also add Sharky's Machine, but that has already been confirmed as forthcoming from Warners.

I'm hoping for this too.
Director's cuts and extended cuts should be released as supplements, not as the main Bluray release of a film!
It doesn't make sense to have an extended cut and not the original theatrical version.

I've been thinking about what is on blu-ray from this decade for a while and here are some I'd love to have...

Prince of the City (1981) Directed by Sidney Lumet - Another intense story of a cop involved with exposing corruption within the ranks from Mr. Lumet. He knows this territory well and gets another great performance from his lead actor...this time Treat Williams in a career defining role.

'Round Midnight (1986) Directed by Bertrand Tavernier - Just a beautiful film that I am surprised has not landed with somebody like Criterion. A great central performance from Dexter Gordon and the film is a love letter to jazz and really music in general.

Drugstore Cowboy (1989) Directed by Gus Van Sant - Perhaps the best performance Matt Dillon ever gave and the supporting cast keeps up with him all the way. Van Sant nails every aspect of this story and you'll never throw a hat on a bed again.

Year of the Dragon (1985) Directed by Michael Cimino - Cimino's last excellent film in my book. This one even greatly impressed (and influenced) Stanley Kubrick in that he could not believe that some of the New York Chinatown scenes were shot on sets. A great big operatic cop drama with excellent performances from John Lone and Mickey Rourke when he was in his prime.

The Cotton Club (1984) Directed by Francis Ford Coppola - Would love to see a "director's cut" of this film but not sure Coppola (or anyone else) would revisit it. It had a troubled history and the story of making the film would be a great but probably too heated topic for a special feature. (Also from Coppola in the 1980s that I would love on blu Rumble Fish, Gardens of Stone, and Tucker The Man and his Dream)

Local Hero (1983) Directed by Bill Forsyth - A favorite film period that I can't believe has never made it to blu-ray. Everything about this film is perfect.

Diner (1982) Directed by Barry Levinson - Very funny slice of life comedy with a great ensemble cast.

Salvador (1986) Directed by Oliver Stone - This is flat out just a great film that is gut punch every time you watch it. James Woods was never better and this one is perfect for Criterion as well.

8 Million Ways to Die (1986) Directed by Hal Ashby - Basically because everything Ashby directed should be on blu-ray.

The Falcon and the Snowman (1985) Directed by John Schlesinger - This is one of Sean Penn's best performances and the film grabs hold of you and never lets go right through to the end.

So, there's just some of the 1980's stuff that I'd really like on blu-ray.
